Feels like I'm standing in a timeless dream
Of light mists and pale amber rose
Feels like I'm lost in a deep cloud of heavenly scent
Touching, discovering you
Those days of warm rains come rushing back to me
Miles of windless summer night air
Secret moments shared in the heat of the afternoon
Out of the stillness soft spoken words
Say, say it again
   I love you always forever
   Near and far closer together
Everywhere I will be with you
Everything I will do for you
You've got the most unbelievable blue eyes I've ever seen
You've got me almost melting away
As we lay there under blue sky with pure white stars
Exotic sweetness a magical time
Say, say it again
(Repeat chorus)
Say you'll love me forever
Never stop never whatever
Near and far and always and everywhere and everything
(Repeat four times)
(Repeat chorus until fade)

The rain was still pounding when Lucky was roused from his comatose state. He opened his eyes slowly. His arms were aching from holding Liz's weight for so long.
Liz shifted in her sleep and mumbled his name. Lucky looked down on her and at the sight of her smile, knew that she was having better dreams than usual. Liz changed her position again and a soft coo slipped past her lips. She promptly blushed and turned her head quickly. Her forehead came into contact with Lucky's chin. She jolted awake.
"Oww," she moaned sleepily, reaching up and rubbing her head. Her hand moved to Lucky's chin, gently caressing the spot where she'd bumped him. "Did I hurt you?"
  "Uh uh."
Liz's hand moved to his lips naturally. She shook herself and sat back, pulling away.
Lucky loosened his grip and allowed her the space she needed.
"So was it a really good dream?" he asked lightly.
Liz took a moment to process his words, then flushed a deep pink when she realized he'd been watching her while she slept.
  "Uh, Yeah. It was."
  "Was I in it?"
Liz flushed even more. She felt as if her face was on fire.
"How long were you watching me?" Liz changed the subject swiftly.
Lucky grinned boyishly and went with the change. "I was only awake for a minute before you head-butted me."
Liz nodded and tried to keep her gaze from Lucky's bare chest. She shifted her eyes to her ankle. It was puffy and swollen and had a rainbow of bruises covering the skin. Lucky followed her gaze. He made a face when he saw the injured appendage.
"Does it hurt badly?" he asked.
"It aches. But it's sort of a dull pain. I'm sure I'll live," Liz answered with a sideways smile.
"You know, you've been getting hurt a lot on this trip," Lucky mentioned offhandedly. "I'm starting to feel guilty."
Liz giggled, unconsciously leaning toward Lucky.
"Actually," her voice grew serious. "I think I'm more off-balance when I'm with you. I lose my concentration, I have a hard time focusing," Except on you, her mind sang. "and I can't seem to quit smiling."
Lucky frowned thoughtfully, absently twining his fingers with Liz's.
"Maybe it's the fact that you're in a new setting."
"Maybe it's the fact that I'm in love."
Liz's mouth snapped shut. She hadn't meant to reveal *that* piece of information. She looked down, a light blush staining her cheeks. Maybe Lucky hadn't caught it. She glanced up at him to find him grinning like a clown.
"So now you're in love with me?" he asked, confidence, almost arrogance, lightening his tone. He touched her jawline tenderly.
Liz felt her heart thudding. It was a wonder Lucky couldn't hear it.
Lucky found himself short of breath. He watched Liz's emotions playing across her face.
"Yeah," she said finally, tightly. "I love you."
Lucky positively beamed. His whole face was shining down on Liz.
She sighed, relief flowing through her system. She almost laughed at the expression on Lucky's face. He leaned in, his lips parting ever so slightly. Liz smiled briefly and closed her eyes, waiting for the inevitable kiss. She peeked through one eye when it was long in coming. Lucky was staring at her, wonder written on his face.
"What?" she asked, tipping her head to one side.
"How did I ever get so lucky?"
Liz grinned sweetly. "Hun, that's my line."
Lucky raised his brows. "Is that so?"
Liz nodded enthusiastically. Lucky leaned in again. This time he didn't pause.
