"I have to fine subjects...” the man says from the other room, looking at the two operatives in the pods. Wires run from their bodies to computers and then to each other.
"Do you think this will work?" the young boy next to the man asks, the father smiles at his son.
"If it doesn't. It will fry their brains." the father replies.
Nikita takes a deep breath at the screen starts to flash in front of her and she starts to feel the electricity run in her body.
"AAAAWWWWWWHHHHHHH" Nikita screams out as the pain is too much. She doesn't notice Michael's matching scream next to her.
"It is working.... They are switching minds..." The father says with a laugh.
And suddenly the screens and computers, and operatives are all quiet.
"We must get out." Nikita says as she looks at the cage that is holding their weak bodies. They have only a little inkling of what happened. The whole mind didn't switch, but the main personalities had switched, which was a whole different ballgame.
"I can't!" Michael whines as he looks at the assorted bruises around his body.
"And what do we tell Section when we get back?" Michael challenges Nikita.
"Nothing. That we are fine. They must not find out." Nikita says as she pulls up Michael's jacket and pulls out the wire to cut their way out.
In less than ten minutes, they run onto a black van, finding their way back to Section One.
Nikita: Now remember act normal and no one will suspect a thing. You covered for me before you can do it again.
Michael: fine. But this sure is going to get confusing. I just hope I don't answer to your name when someone calls you.
Nikita: We will just have to make sure that we pay attention. We will have to stick close together. Just then Ops comes around the corner accompanied by Maddy.
Ops: Briefing in 5 minutes Michael and Nikita.
With that he and Maddy continue down the hall.
Michael: I wonder what the mission is? I guess I better go freshen up first and I'll meet you there.
Nikita: fine, I'll just go to my office..... Hmmm, this is going to be a problem. We will have to work some things out after the briefing.
Michael goes off to use the facilities remembering at the last minute to use the right one!! Man this is going to be a pain until we can get someone to get us back to normal, she thought to herself/himself.
Walter: hey sugar, what you doing here in Michael's office?
Nikita: What??? Oh, Michael sent me in here to get something for him. We have a briefing in a few minutes.
Walter: Yup, guess I'll see you there.
Phew..... That was close...
Nikita: Shut the door...we have a problem.
Michael turns around and shuts the door.
Michael: A problem? Try having to use the men’s room...THAT is a problem. Don't you males know the phrase...please don't sprinkle when you tinkle? Sheesh!!
Nikita looks at Michael as if she has grown horns.
Nikita: What? What in the world are you talking about? Never mind. The problem that I was referring to is this briefing.
Michael looks a Nikita, waiting for him to continue.
Nikita: It seems to have slipped my mind that I.. I mean you...I mean.. well.. Michael is supposed to present a possible profile on this mission And well…
Michael looks at Nikita.
Michael: And... well...what?
Nikita: I neglected to write down my notes...and well...I have no idea how you will be able to memorize all the intel in time.
Michael walks over to the desk.
Michael: Well how much time do we have?
As Nikita starts to answer, there is a knock on the office door.
Birkoff opens the door, and leans his head in.
Birkoff: Michael...the team is waiting at the briefing table for you...Operations wants to know what the hold up is.
Michael turns and looks a Nikita.
Nikita: I have no idea. We'll have to find some way to switch our personalities back to where they belong.
Michael: But how do we do that?
Nikita: I don't know. We might have to stall the briefing some. Get on the comm unit and tell Operations that you checked out the intel and there's some bad intel here, you need to get some more before we can go on this mission.
Michael: Are you sure that this will work?
Nikita: No. We have to try it at least.
Michael goes over to the desk and opens a link. Michael proceeds to tell Operations exactly what Nikita told him to say.
Operations: WHAT DO YOU MEAN BAD INTEL???
Michael taking his ques from Nikita who's quickly writing on a tablet of paper what he should say: I mean that the source went bad. We need to get more intel before this mission is a Go.
Operations: Well, get on it!!! I want that intel as of three weeks ago!!!
Michael: I'm on it.
Michael reaches down and closes the comm link to Operations. He then turns to Nikita.
Michael: Now what are we going to do?
Nikita: Now we go and find the person who did this to us, and find some new intel to feed to Operations.
Michael and Nikita walk out of Michael's office and out of Section all together.
As Nikita drove Michael started complaining about feeling and thoughts he was having, since he was now under the *influence* so-to-speak, of the female body.
Michael: I am feeling strangely Nikita. My hands...they are getting rather puffy. And my feet are getting really sore in these shoes. I feel like I am about to explode or something.
He is looking at his fingers and flexing them with a strange puzzled look on his face.
Nikita, without even looking, tries to explain this strange phenomenon to him.
Nikita: It's called PMS. Get over it...that is what you always tell me!! And don't think you are going to get out of anything here by blaming your mood on this either, I might add.
Nikita was suddenly struck by the hilarity of the situation and began to laugh out loud.
Michael, with a pout, looked over at her as his eyes began to well with un-shed tears…
Michael: Stop it!! You are just being mean to me!!
With a huff he crossed his arms and turned to look out the window, in effect, giving the *silent treatment* to Nikita.
When Nikita pulled up into the parking garage in her building she abruptly told Michael.
Nikita: We're here. Come on. We have work to do if we want to get back to our usual selves.
"Silly.. You are at your own apartment!" Michael says as he walks to her and stares at her. They were so confused.
"Oh, yes.” Nikita says as she stares at Michael and winces in pain.
Michael looks at her and then looks away. Nikita enters the apartment. She walks up the stairs. She pulls off her shirt and Michael stares at her.
"What the hell!” Michael says as he starts to feel a pressure and Nikita turns. Nikita looks at him and smiles.
"Shift yourself around... you are getting aroused." Nikita says and Michael looks at her.
"It is not working." Michael says firmly.
"I know it isn't" Nikita says playfully.
"Damn.. I really need to do something with these clothes... no colors at all!" Michael says as he goes to find something.
Michael walks out of the bathroom to grab a towel.
"I missed again." Michael says and walks back into the bathroom.
"Now this is interesting... Nikita's mind trapped in Michael's body... and Michael's mind trapped in Nikita's.. And their personalities seem to be floating between their own and the others.... VERY INTERESTING..." Madeline says as she turns off the computer and go find Operations. He was going to enjoy this one.
Ops: What can I do for you Madeline?
Maddy: Well, I just thought that you would be interested in some intel I just came across.
Ops: What is it?
Maddy: Well, it seems as though Michael and Nikita have gotten themselves into a dilemma.
Ops: Oh, what now?? It seems everytime we turn around it's something else with those two.
Maddy: It seems as though they already have the intel we are looking for, but don't realize it.
Ops: In what way? And how could they not know?
Maddy: Well, had we not had to postpone the briefing earlier they would have known. It seems as though they have been tampered with in some way.
Ops: Oh! That must be why they didn't want to be at the briefing.
Maddy: Must be. It seems that who ever got to them altered their minds and personalities. I just observed them at Michael’s place and well, they seem to have reversed roles.
Ops: Of all the damn..... Foolish.. Argghhh. I shouldn't have let them get away with that feeble excuse. I knew something wasn't right. Get them both back here NOW and if they come up with any excuses sent someone after them!!
Michael: I don't know how you answer it.
Nikita: Just answer the phone and say 'yes'.
Michael proceeds to open the cell phone and does what Nikita tells him to do. After listening to the person on the other end, hangs up and turns to Nikita.
Michael: We're in trouble now.
Nikita: What do you mean?
Michael: That was Madeline. She told me that she knows the truth about us and we are to come into Section immediately.
Nikita: How could they know the truth? Unless we were being monitored during that mission…
Michael: So what do we do now?
Nikita: We go in. If they truly know what has happened to us, they can fix it.
Michael: Are you sure?
Nikita: Yes. Let's go.
Michael and Nikita get into the Jeep and pull out of the driveway heading back to Section.
Nikita assumed a stance of uncaring nonchalance while Michael, on the other hand, shifted his weight from foot to foot and kept looking anywhere in the room but at Madeline or Operations.
Nikita finally spoke.
Nikita: So, Madeline, you know of what has happened here, or so you said.
Madeline: Yes. The two of you were grabbed during your botched egress on that last mission. Since all the other operatives had been sacrificed you two were the only ones we had left to offer.
That last phrase drew Michael's attention.
Michael: Offer? Are you saying that you KNEW about this...Beforehand?? And you......'offered' us to these people?
Michael began to move towards Madeline with a menacing look and a gleam in his eye. Just before he could reach her Operations stepped in his path.
Ops: Michael. Stop this. It was the only way for us to gain access to this intel. It can be quite useful to us on future missions. Now the only problem is to pinpoint the actual traits that each of you have swapped and discover the means used to gain this end.
Directing Michael and Nikita ahead of them the four left the office and headed down to the lab.
"No... I'm not going to do this.... No way..." Michael starts to say as he struggles against Madeline's touch. Operations pushes him down into the chair and locks him in.
"We can tell that that outburst was Nikita's personality." Operations comments and Madeline shakes her head.
"We do not need comments like that." Madeline says as she takes Operations out of the room. Michael looks at Nikita, but she stares straight ahead. The torture twins enter and give both a slight drug.
"The drug will override any will power... We know that Michael has a terrific blank stare, and to figure out what is where in their bodies... we need to override that and see emotional reactions." Madeline explains. She turns and smiles at the two operatives.
"I'm going to say some words, and I just want you to listen to them." Madeline says.
"GRAY..." Madeline, says and Michael drops his head and looks around. Nikita turns her head and stares at Michael.
"STOP THAT!" Nikita says firmly and Madeline raises an eyebrow to Operations.
"No talking." Madeline says and Nikita lifts her head and tries to maintain the position of indifference.
"Red Cell." Madeline says and Nikita initially winces and then tightens her jaw. She still maintained part of her memory and her feelings, although she was operating as if Michael.
Michael first looked at Nikita, with just a movement of his eyes and then trembles and tears form in his eyes.
"You see... they still have their own minds.. They just think they are each other.... The experts did a good job with them.” Madeline says and she turns to the two.
"Simone." Madeline says and both operatives immediately start to cry.
"Good job on messing them both up.” Operations says and Madeline turns away, not knowing who to try to console first.
"Sir... we need Michael and Nikita for that mission tonight." Birkoff says as Madeline turns to face him. He nods his head and looks at them.
"Get them cleaned up. This is going to have to wait." Operations says firmly.
Nikita looks at the bed and slides her body in. Michael is laying down with a short tank top over his body, and laying on his stomach. He turns and looks at Nikita.
"What is wrong, honey?" Nikita asks as she looks at Michael.
"Just a bit stressed out." Michael replies as he takes his hand and twirls his hair with a finger. He looks at Nikita and hopes that she picks up what he wants... what he needs.
"I wish you would just tell him no." Nikita replies firmly and Michael uses his arms to push his body up a little bit and show off his body a little bit.
"Can't you sleep?" Nikita finally asks as she turns off the light and turns to Michael.
"I was hoping you would... help me relax." Michael says with a shy little smile. Nikita looks away and then to Michael.
"Are you sure that is what you want?" Nikita asks and Michael bites his lower lip.
"Positive." Michael says and Nikita touches his arm and lays him down into the bed.
"Take care of me..." Michael moans out as Nikita's hand slides over his chest. Both were going to learn what it felt like to be the other in the most intimate way a person could.
Nikita pulls off her nightgown and lays on top of Michael. Michael leans his head back as Nikita slowly does what he needed and tears run down his face.
Nikita is laying in bed wondering about what has happened between the two of them. She wonders if it was as good for Michael as it was for her. These mixed emotions were playing havoc with her mind. She never knew from one minute to the next as to who she really was..... She gets out of bed covering herself up with the blanket.
Michael: Where are you going?
Nikita: I'm getting dressed... Ummm, Michael, that really shouldn't have happened last night. I don't know what got into me.
Michael: You don't? Well, I could hazard a guess (He says smiling an evil grin)
Nikita: get dressed Michael. Go and make some breakfast. I'm starving and by the way, none of that fancy stuff either. I want some real food.
Michael: What? You don't like my cooking? Nikita, you hurt my feelings….
Michael starts to get out of bed not bothering to cover himself up. Nikita can't help but glance in his direction and admire that body.
Michael: okay, fine, I'll see what I can scrounge up for you. Although you do know how I love to cook
Michael is busy in the kitchen when Nikita finally comes in, dressed in an outfit he had never seen before. It was all vivid colors of every shade of the rainbow and came to just below her knees, with a shawl around her shoulders.
Nikita glances at the table and sees that Michael has put a vase of fresh flowers on the table and has put fancy placemats down.
Nikita: That smells wonderful. What are you cooking?
Michael: You'll see.....
