Each day I sit alone

Dreaming of the days

When we were one.

I long to see your face

Light up when you see me coming

Or when you're laughing.

The sound of your laughter

Echoes in my ears

As I reminisce of those days

Long ago.

The sweetness of your lips

Upon mine

Is a vivid memory that I hope

Never to forget.

Those bittersweet times that we see each other

Are so wonderful

Yet so heartbreaking

For you will never know

The love that's in my heart.

I long to tell you

To say those beautiful words to you

The words that sum up all of my feelings for you.

I may date other men

Trying to find one that will be your substitute

But none of them compare to you.

Not in the way they talk

The way they walk

The way they laugh.

Not in the way they kiss

The way they hold me near

They way they just sit with me

When I just need to relax.

I love only you

There I've said it

No one compares because no one is you.

There is only one person

Who will have my heart totally

And that is you.

I love you so much it hurts

Saying goodbye each time we see each other

Seeing you know that you are not mine anymore.
