Northstar and Aries have been having a discussion and decide to take a walk around CL Headquarters. A lot has changed in the almost year we have been here. We have had operatives leave for unknown destinations and we have also had new recruits joining us. We even had some operatives that were still in Mandatory Refusal.
North: You know we need to do something with HQ. I can't quite put my finger on it, but we need to change a few things.
Aries: Yeah I know what you mean. The place is looking sorta drab. I think those things we discussed earlier should be put into place soon.
North: Yup, I agree. Okay, let's go work out the final details before we announce it to the rest of the Covert Lovers.
Aries: Sounds good to me.
Off the two of them go.
Aries was relieved to be back from her unexpected mandatory refusal that the thought of hers and North's plans for CLHQ were a relief. She grinned evilly as she walked down the hallway towards her office eager to begin the changes.
Just as she reached her office, her cell phone began to ring.
Aries: Hello?
North: I'm all set at this end!
Aries: Already?
North: Yeah! Are you ready?
Aries: I just made it to my office! I was swamped by a bunch of CLers who wanted to welcome me back home.
North: Ok, well give me a ring when things are set up on your end!
Aries: I will do that! Now let me get my stuff done!
North: Ok, talk to ya later!
Aries: Talk to ya in a few.
Aries hangs up her cell phone and heads into her office grinning once again. This was going to be good!
Meanwhile...
North was pacing back and forth in her office impatiently waiting for Aries to let her know when it was time. Everyone knew how North was when it came to waiting for something that she wanted. This wasn't anything new.
Just as North was about to put more wear on the carpet in her office, her cell phone rang...
North: Hello??? Aries is that you????? Oh.. it's you Michael. I was hoping it was Aries finally getting back to me.
Michael: I'm sorry North. I just thought I would touch base and see how things were going.
North: Oh, thanks Michael. Things would be going a lot better if Aries would hurry and phone me!!
Michael: Why?
North: Well, we have some things planned for HQ's and Aries has to make some final plans and then we can implement them.
Michael: Great. So what do you have planned?
North: Well!! If I told you that then it wouldn't be a surprise now would it? I know you!! You'd be whispering sweet nothings in everyone's ear letting them know ahead of time.
Michael: MOI????
North: Yeah you!!! HeHe. Well Michael, I'm going to hang upon you! I don't want to miss my call. Oh and if you see Roy and the rest of them you can tell them that as soon as we get this settled we will be calling a meeting.
Michael: Okay. Au revoir.
North takes up her pacing again. This waiting is killing her. If she didn't hear from Aries soon she was going to track her down.
Michael hangs up the phone and turns around.
“So Michael, did she tell you anything?”
“No Cherie, she said it was to be a surprise. She was afraid I would 'spill the beans' to everyone.”
Sherry laughed. "Well Michael, maybe not everyone ... but you would have definitely told me now wouldn't you?"
Michael smiled. "But of course. Anything for you, you know that."
"I've heard a few rumors, but I can't wait to see what all they have planned. And with some of the old-timers coming back from mandatory refusal, well, things should liven up quite a bit around here. Should be lots of fun."
Michael walked over and sad down beside Sherry. "Well Cherie, as long as you don't forget about me."
Sherry laughed and turned to him. "Oh Michael, I really don't think you have to worry about that! Say ... maybe you could do me one more favor?"
Michael laughed. "Let me guess ... call Aries and see if I can find out anything from her!"
"You got it. I knew there was a reason I was crazy about you!"
Aries is frantically running around her office trying to get everything in order for hers and North's plans. Just as she was packing everything into her bag, there was a knock at the door.
Aries: Just a minute!
Aries quickly stuffed the rest of the necessary items into her bag and hid it in her closet. As soon as the bag was in the closet, she ran to the door and opened it as calmly as she could.
Aries: Oh, hey Roy!
Aries said and backed away from the door and headed toward her desk. She wanted to make sure that he didn't suspect anything was going on.
Roy: Hey, I wanted to come by and say welcome back! I heard Red Cell was playing with your computer?
Aries: To tell you the truth, I think it was Birkoff trying to get back at me for stealing his stash of oreos that I found.
Roy: Really? Do you think he could be that mean?
Aries: Yeah. I know that he can!
Just then, Aries cell phone began to ring.
Aries: Hello?
Michael: Hi Aries.
Aries: Michael, how nice to hear your voice again! It's been a while!
Michael: I was about to say the same to you. I've missed you Cherie.
Aries: I've missed you too. What's up?
Michael: What do you mean?
Aries: Why are you calling me? I know you better than that.
Michael: Can't I just call to see how you are doing after your incident?
Aries: Not you. What is it that you are wanting to know?
Michael: Ok Aries, you are good. I was just wondering what the big changes coming to CLHQ were going to be.
Aries: Now you know I'm not going to tell you that! I'll see you at the meeting Michael!
Aries quickly hung up the cell phone before Michael could start in on his French and worm the information out of her.
Roy: What was that about?
Aries: Just Michael being nosy.
Roy: That's nothing new.
Aries: Tell me about it. Hey, I have a lot I have to catch up on, can we meet later privately and you can welcome me back then?
Roy: That sounds magnificent! Where and when?
Aries: How about in my room around 10ish?
Roy: It's a date!
Roy gets up with a smile on his face and leaves the office quietly. He didn't even think twice about what Aries and North might be up to.
Aries picks up the cell phone just as Roy finished closing the door and hit the speed dial button for North and waited impatiently for her to answer...
North had just made it to her room when her phone rang. Grabbing it quickly and flipping it open she shouted into it.
"Aries this had better be you!"
"Yup, its me and I think I am finally done. We can at least announce to the list one of the things we have planned."
"Oh??? Which one are we going to do first?"
Aries laughed. "You're so impatient!! Did you know that Michael actually called me to see if he could find out anything!!"
"Yeah, he tried that with me too. I wonder who it was that was behind that?” North asked Aries.
"Well I have my suspicions about who that is, but it doesn't really matter now. We'll be calling the meeting soon and then everyone will know anyway."
"Okay. I just hope the newbies will join in on this. AND the lurkers. It seems we have quite a few of them on here and it would be nice to see them get involved."
"Yup, I agree. We need to do something to get them to post even if it is only once in a while."
"Well, let's hope we get some involved. We had sooooo much fun when we did this last year. I can especially remember JoJo's!!! She did a bang up job with hers!" Northstar remembered.
"Shhhh North!!!! You'll give it away for sure." Aries cautioned her.
North: Ok, well, you call the meeting and I will prepare the room.
Aries: Ok, I'm on my way!
Aries and North hung up their cell phones and quickly set to their jobs. They couldn't wait to see how their idea was taken with the other CLers.
Quickly turning and walking over to the PA system that was hooked through to her office, she turned it on.
"ATTENTION ALL CLERS! YOUR PRESENCE IS REQUESTED IN THE CONFERENCE ROOM IN 15MINUTES! REPEAT, YOUR PRESENCE IS REQUESTED IN THE CONFERENCE ROOM IN 15 MINUTES!" Aries said loudly and heard her voice echo down the halls and through the rooms of CLHQ. She smiled as she turned off the PA system, grabbed the bag of goodies from the closet and headed out of her room directly for the conference room.
North and Aries waited for all the members to be seated before talking.
"Okay girls, if I could have your attention please we can get started. First off I would like to explain something to you all."
Trace, Aly, and Shadoe looked at each other and rolled their eyes. Sherry just waited patiently. Wendy was over in the corner trying to look inconspicuous. Jade and Lafemme just looked curious.
"Okay, last year when we started this list and moved into Covert Lovers headquarters all of our members were given free reign in the decorating of their rooms here. When they were done they posted to the list how they decorated them. We had some very creative ideas come out of this. SO!!! What we are asking you to do is to take your room and decorate it and post to the list how you did it." North continued.
Aries steps up to the microphone next. "That's right. Seeing as we have had many members come and go and move into rooms that were already decorated, we are giving everyone a chance to re-decorate their rooms. We want to see some originality here and we want to hear about how you are doing it on the list. We really want EVERYONE to join in on this activity and that includes the newbies and the lurkers. WE want this to be fun for everyone involved."
RULES: No MILK!! No butt stencils!! That's it other than to have fun. So let's see what you can all come up with and how creative you can be.
A few weeks later, North and Aries walk around Covert Lovers Head Quarters (CLHQ) to see how their CL daughters had decorated their rooms and this is what they found...
