Stefan: {Seeing her come down the dock steps} “Laura? Over here.”
Laura: “Stefan. I thought you invited me to Wyndemere for dinner tonight.”
Stefan: “I did.”
Laura: “Oh, well, then why are you here?”
Stefan:
“I brought you something.” {He gives her daisies}
Laura:
“Oh, they're beautiful.”
Stefan: “Your favorite flower. Though, I never understood why.”
Laura: {Laughing} “I know. They're not ostentatious enough for you. It's their simplicity I like.”
Stefan: “Well, I thought they might make your ride across the lake a bit more pleasant.”
Laura: “Well, on a cold night like tonight, they'll be a pleasant reminder of spring.”
Stefan: “The season of renewal.”
Laura: “Is the launch waiting?”
Stefan: “Yes. But before we go, there's something you should know. Nikolas won't be joining us. He's not at home and isn't expected. Leaving me at a disadvantage -- I have nothing to coax you off the mainland with except the pleasure of my company, should you choose to accept it.”
Laura:
“I do.“ {They walk off together}
Laura: “More daisies. It's so nice of you to remember.”
Stefan: “I could never forget. I'll always make a connection between you and daisies.”
Laura: “Really?”
Stefan: “It started in the wild garden. The daisies were in bloom. You were sitting on the ground surrounded by white and yellow.”
Laura:
“Stefan Cassadine, were you spying on me?”
Stefan:
“I prefer to call it admiring you from afar. {Laura laughs} As you touched
the flowers, you seemed to be conversing with either them or yourself.”
Laura: “Well, I guess when I think I’m alone, I talk to plants and flowers.”
Stefan: “Well, I was charmed. I was charmed and curious. I couldn't hear what you were saying, but I still wonder. You -- you seemed so earnest. Do you remember the moment?”
Laura: “It was about you.”
Stefan: “Me?”
Laura: “I was wondering what it would take to make you laugh.”
Stefan: “So what did you come up with to make me laugh?”
Laura: “Hmm.”
Stefan: “I -- I think I have it. The frogs.”
Laura: “The frogs, right.”
Stefan:
“The frogs.” {They both laugh}
Laura:
“I did. Oh, and you remember that fish stew that Irina used to make, the
one that had the tails still in it?”
Stefan: “Oh, that is not a dish one easily forgets, with the tails in it.”
Laura: “One night I tried so hard to come up with a way to spill it on Helena just to make you laugh.”
Stefan: “I remember, yes.”
Laura: “I couldn't do it.”
Nikolas:
“What's so funny?”
Stefan:
“Oh, I’m sorry, Nikolas.”
Laura: “Hi.”
Stefan: “Well, come, join us. Join us.”
Nikolas: “Oh, no, thanks. I've already eaten.”
Laura: “So have we. Would you like some coffee?”
Nikolas: “I have a couple of things to do in my room, but you two enjoy your evening.”
Stefan: “Good night.”
Nikolas: “Night.” {He goes up the stairs}
Stefan: “Well, our son has come home after all. Does that mean you'll be leaving soon?”
Laura: “Well, if it's all right with you, I’d like to stay.”
Laura: {Stefan turns on some music} “No, it couldn't be.”
Stefan: “You recognize it?”
Laura: “Isn't it the music that you used to play in your room on the island? I used to hear it coming from your window all the time.”
Stefan: “You called it haunting.”
Laura: “You listened to it for so many hours.”
Stefan: “There was such longing in the melody. It was the same as the longing in my heart for you. While you were in the garden thinking about me, I was listening to this, wondering how it would feel to have you in my arms.” {They kiss}
