Getting To Know You...
Spencers
"So, it is true -- you Spencers really do believe the world revolves around you." - Cesar Faison
Luke (Lucas) Lorenzo Spencer. (Anthony
Geary)
How to describe Luke? He's eccentric, paranoid, and has a wild temper. He's also witty, downright hilarious, loyal to a fault, and not what you might call a "people person." Family is everything to Luke, (although it's hard to tell from the current state of affairs in the Spencer family). Luke is supposed to be the ultimate rebel, the wild guy who lives dangerously, walks a little too close to the edge, and ignores the law. That said, I don't understand how the man managed to evade the mob for years - he's inept. None of his plans work out. Pretty much all Luke does these days is laze about drinking and smoking cigars, reliving his glory days when he had permed hair.
"If I were you, maybe I'd hate me too. I do hate me, and I'm not you." What?
Roy: You are not a master of disguise. I've seen more convincing trick or treat outfits.
Scott: He's got this cementhead. He's not very likeable.
Mac: Not everyone is like you, Luke...working on a hidden agenda or old grudges.
Lucky: Much as I hate him, I am him.
Laura Webber Spencer. (Genie Francis)
"I think logic is highly over-rated." You don't say.
Laura is a very talented woman. She can cry at the drop of a hat - heck, sometimes, you don't even have to drop anything. She somehow got her Master's degree while running from the Mob and raising her family...I don't pretend to know the details. That magical degree got her this really important job running the Youth Outreach program at GH, which apparently is really easy 'cuz she never has to go to work or anything. Hey, I'm sure the kids can feel her love all the way from North Carolina. Laura's greatest strength is her (delusional) belief that everything she does is right - she's not selfish, though, she tries to spread her self-righteousness around. I particularly love the way she criticizes Luke for having an affair during their separation (following her presentation of divorce papers and affair with Stefan). But who am I to criticize? Laura's always right, right?
Helena: You know, your fits are getting worse dear. Shouldn't the doctors here put you on some kind of medication?
"Lucky" Lucas Lorenzo Spencer,
Jr. (Jacob Young)
"All my life I've counted on one thing, and that was me."
The catch-phrase for describing Lucky at ABC these days is "rebel." To that I say, "whatever." He doesn't seem much more rebellious than anyone else on GH. Anyway, Lucky is pretty much a mini-Luke with a dash of Laura's self-righteousness thrown in for flavor. Heh. I love Lucky, but still...he's melodramatic, and when he's being romantic I'm never sure if I like his corny lines, or want to burst out laughing. He can fling a pretty good insult on occasion, although there seems to be less occasion for that lately, given the lack of Faison, and the fact that he is beginning to resolve his issues with his parents (again).
Liz: Get over yourself, Spencer.
Liz: It was like an angel came down to earth to help me. I trust you with my life.
Nikolas: I spent most of my life hating Lucky.
Luke: You're my hero. You are the role model in this family.
Bobbie (Barbara Jean) Spencer. (Jacklyn
Zeman)
Bobbie has gone through almost as many husbands as Ned Ashton has wives (or has she had more - who can keep track?), which is quite an impressive feat, considering that she hasn't married half the men she's fallen completely in love with. No matter. She's got Roy now, and that's apparently the important thing, 'cuz it's all she can prattle on about. I'm not sure if Bobbie is a little stupid or if it's just that her big cow eyes make her look perpetually surprised. It's kinda hard to tell when I'm fast-forwarding through all her scenes.
Carly: You have this habit of refusing to see the bad in people until it jumps up and bites you in the face.
Carly Roberts. (Sarah Brown)
"I'm me. What do I want?"
"Just let me do all the lying. I'm very good at it."
(I had trouble deciding what her last name is - Roberts? Benson? Spencer? Quartermaine? Corinthos? Whatever.) Despite the fact that Bobbie gave her up for adoption, Carly is a chip off the Spencer block. She firmly believes in grudges, revenge, fighting dirty, and above all, making "plans" to resolve sticky situations. Naturally, being a Spencer, none of her plans ever work out. What I love about Carly, though, is that she keeps trying anyway. She's not shy about expressing her opinions, and this woman's tongue has been sharpened on just about everyone in PC.
AJ: Look out, world! The hellcat's on the prowl!
Sonny: Darkness gets in your head, you want to spread that darkness around, so you try to find the first place to strike.
Monica: Oh, Carly, when you plan something, everybody's suspicious.
Jason: I do not understand why you have to find the hardest way to do things.
Jason: I know you'll always take something simple and shake it into chaos.

Lulu Spencer.
Hey, let's face it. Nobody cares. She can barely say her lines. But to be fair....at least she's not Michael.
