WRCW. Liza’s office.

Liza is sitting at her desk, typing into her computer.

Marian enters.

Marian: Liza? Darling, what’s going on? I’m hearing all sorts of things.

Liza: Well, then, maybe you should get your hearing checked, Mother.

Marian: Adam is Colby’s father? How did that happen?

Liza: How do you think?

There’s a knock at the door. A messenger enters.

Messenger: Liza Chandler?

Liza rises and goes over to the messenger. He holds up an envelope.

Messenger: This is for you. Would you sign here?

Liza signs for the envelope. The messenger hands her the envelope and leaves.

Marian: Liza? Is it true?

Liza opens the envelope.

Liza: Oh, no.

Marian: Liza, answer me.

Liza: Not now, Mother.

Liza begins to cry.

Marian: Liza, what is it?

Liza: Adam just served me with divorce papers.

Marian: What?

Liza holds out the papers to Marian. Marian glances over them.

Marian: But I just saw Adam. He told me to come here and ask you what was going on.

Liza: What?

Marian: He said that --

Liza: Where is he?

Marian: At the house. He --

Liza grabs her coat and leaves.
