Tex Murphy (Chris Jones) is an old fashioned gumshoe living in the new-fangled future. In post WWIII San Francisco, Tex Murphy is one of the people counted as a Norm--a person whose genetic makeup was not affected by the post war readiation. Norms have a natural immunity to the radiation, and most of them live in New San Francisco, the area of the city that was rebuilt after the war, but Tex doesn't. He lives in Old San Francisco with the Mutants--the people who were altered by the radiation. But Somehow, Tex Murphy feels more comfortable around those who have been shunned and rejected, but he tells his clients that he lives there beacause the rent is cheap.
Tex Murphy is the man out of time. He dressed in a well tailored trenchcoat and a soft felt fedora, he alway looks lika a P.I. from the 1930's, not in 2040 which he lives. The only thing different is the pair of comfy sneakers he wears in place of the traditional wing tips. Tex can handle the futuristic machinery and looks of his surroundings, but it give him a good old glass of bourbon (he love to get drunk sometime) and a Lucky Strike, and he feels right at his office or in his home. |

She work at the Newsstand keeps her up to date with all the current events of the city, both by reading the papers she sells, and by talking with the customers. Therefore, she knows more than most people about what goes on in the dark shadows of the Old San Francisco city. |

Louie LaMintz (Randall Edwards) owns and run the Brew & Stew cafe. He's a bloated Mutant with a heart as big as his waistline. Louie is probably or maybe Tex's best friend and also Rook Garner friend, if he has one. Everyone comes to Louie's cafe, where the smell of his most famous lamb stew or spicy chili mixes with the smell of his infamous Armageddon blend coffee (that would wake you up) |

Rook Garner (Doug Vandergrift), the owner of Rook's Pawn Shop, is a crusty old WWIII vet with a mean steak longer than his lifeline. Actually, he'd take you in on a cold night, feed you, clothe you, give you a place to sleep...and then Rook Garner demand you to pay him fifty buck or more for the trouble or kick you out and never come back.. |

Lieuutenant Mac Malden (Kevin L. Jones) is Tex's link to the San Francisco Police Department. Mac is always reluctant to help, but then remembers how many times Tex has saved his butt by solving a case for him, usually resulting in a promotion for Mac Malden, and no credit what so ever for Tex Murphy. |
