My name is Bill. I was born on a sunny August 23rd in 1951 in San Diego, California, the second of three children born to Jack and Caroline, a Chief Radioman in the U.S. Navy and his Irish war-bride.
A lifetime resident of America's Finest City, I grew up within walking distance of Balboa Park, with it's assortment of museums, recreation facilities, and of course, the world-famous San Diego Zoo.
My grade-school years were spent at Thomas Jefferson Elementary, Alice Birney Elementary, Theodore Roosevelt Jr. High, and San Diego High School. My favorite classes were those in the sciences, to a lesser degree, math, and, somewhat surprisingly, the school choir. My proudest moment from my school years was when, in spite of possessing an overwhelming lack of talent and never quite mastering the ability to read music, I was selected by the choir director my Senior year to be a member of the Madrigal Singers -- a hand-picked, and very prestigious group that performed all over the city. What an unexpected prize that was!
I received (appropriately) a B.S. degree in Information Systems from
San Diego State University in 1973.
Active in softball and racquetball prior to "retirement" due to a knee injury and broken arm, most of my sporting activity now consists of viewing from the stands or on TV. I enjoy watching just about all sports, but especially baseball and football.
I love to travel, and since I am a serious photography hobbyist, one of my goals is to develop an online gallery of my travel photos to share with other enthusiasts on the Web.
Thank you for taking the time to find out who I am. I would enjoy hearing from you. You can send me a if you like.
