    She was nominated for 6 Emmys & she was the only Hispanic who actually won an Emmy during the 40th edition of the awards last month in New York CENIA ALVARADO-BELTRE from the Dominican Republic !
    To be nominated for an Emmy is nothing unusal for Cenia, its been now like this for 4 consecutive years in the categories "Best Production" and "Talent of the Year". Let us take a look at here professional resume:

    • 1976: starts working as radio host during here studies of medicine in the Dominican Republic.
    • 1979: moves to the Unites States to seek a career in the Broadcasting Industry.
    • 1980: gets her first radio job reading the news at WBNX -- today WKDM -- in New York.
    • 1981: Offered the news anchor at WXTV , channel 41.
    • 1984: While working at WXTV she takes a second chance at radio WBNX to co-host a morning talk show with her Dominican partner Alipio Cocco Cabrera.
    • 1987: Hosts and produces "New Jersey Hispano" in public television network.
    • 1988: Start her own program "Juntos con Amor" at WSKQ FM 98.
    • 1990:Covers the Dominican Presidencial Elections and is awarded "The Golden Microphone"-- the highest Dominican Broadcasting Award.
    • 1993: Is entrusted in New York to cover and investigate abusive police practice in Massachusetts.
    • 1994: Awarded an Emmy in Miami for a TV series on Aids and at the same time is nominated for an Emmy in New York for a documentary titled "El artista del pescado".
    • 1995: Emmy nomination for her documentary "Inocencia abusada" about child abuse.
    In the last years she has made herself a name for her work about malpractice and abuse in the textiles industry of Latinamerica and the United States. She is the owner of the INN (Independent News Network) where she produces with her own team and equipment programs like "Primer Impacto", "Fuera de Serie" & "Despierta America" for the Hispanic UNIVISION network. Those productions have also been sold and aired in Europe and Latin America.

    When she is not producing for TV you will find her doing community work or patronize social events for the Hispanic communities in New Yersey. She was the first woman ever to be accepted in a Kiwanis Club in the state of New Jersey and Cania also is a member of the Public Service Council at University of Medicine in this state.

    Her most recent success was being selected oficial host of the Latin HBO network.

    But despite all her task in the business Cenia finds enough time for her two children -- Hector and Carolina, who are proud to have a mom regonized as and outstanding example of a successful business woman.
