This is the famous Cape Town waterfront -- the most visited tourist attraction in all of Africa. Note the Planet Hollywood in the foreground. It was recently rebuilt after having been blown up with a bomb. |

There are many townships outside of Cape Town. From what I could see, it looks like conditions in such places have improved a lot in the last 10 years. | ![]() |

Old apartheid signs are now museum pieces. I think the white South Africans try to give the impression that apartheid occurred much farther back in time than it did. |
