Allow me to preface this whole section by saying that I am far from a dedicated Parrothead. That title would belong to my friend Len. However, even though I am not the biggest Jimmy Buffett fan, I do enjoy going to his concerts very much and this is what this section is about.
To be perfectly honest, I am merely a casual Jimmy Buffett fan. I only really know a few songs to sing along to, your standards like "Margaritaville," "Fins," "Volcano," and "Cheeseburger in Paradise." But I guess I'm not too bad because recently I was chatting with a die-hard Parrothead and she was impressed that I knew some lines to "Jamaica Mistaka." However, when push comes to shove, I probably enjoy "Cheeseburger" most because a juicy burger with everything on it has to be my ideal bite to eat.
However, I think it is crucial to add that that song about getting drunk and screwing...gets an A+ for concept!!! Talk about brilliance!!! Anyway, I love going to Jimmy Buffett concerts because I'm totally down with that whole tropical scene. I mean where else do public drunkenness, nudity, and hawaiian shirts all seamlessly converge in a flea market-esque atmosphere in the name of having a good time? Unfortunately, I can't think of too many.
The concert is coming back to my area on June 3rd and 5th in Camden, NJ and you better bet I'm gonna be there. Already got my lawn tickets for the 5th! Last year I had a bit too much "fun" and don't really recall much of the concert itself (what a tailgate though). Hopefully this year I'll bring a camera and take some pictures of the festivities just in case. However until then, here's a few shots to give those of you who are a bit confused an idea of what a concert is like.
