Jim Croce

I was first exposed to Jim Croce growing up in Drexel Hill. He had attended the same high school as I (some 30 years earlier) but still had a prominent location in Upper Darby's "Wall of Fame." All I knew about him was that he was a musician who had one big hit, "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown", and died in some sort of tragic accident.

Well one day I was at the mall looking through a bargain bin in one of the music stores, and who was looking up at me in a dark and serious manner? Jim Croce of course. So I thought what the heck, he was from around here, so I bought his album for like five bucks.

I instantly fell in love with what I heard. It was a great mix of blues, rock, and folk, and much more interesting than the junk they play on the radio today.

Now I regard Jim as my favorite musician. I regret not being able to see him perform live, however occasional spots on VH-1 really satisfy my cravings.

That's why I created this page. There's not many good Jim pages out there. Bubba's Life & Times of Jim Croce is the only one I've really ever seen.
thanks for the pictures Bubba...
