The Current Events.........

Hello all, this is my August edition.

Life is moving so fast... Can you believe it is August already!!!  It is the busiest month at work.  We are now putting together for a business plan for next year along with all the DETAILS along with all the works lined up and around.  I am swamped!

Last weekend, I had a chance to go to Buriram, a province in the east, north of Cambodia.  It's all work, even the foods we had were very boringly indifferent from Bangkok foods.  But it's a good change of pace, of environment, I enjoyed it nevertheless.  By the way, if you think about going there, the flight to Buriram is two hours because it has to stop at Nakorn Ratchasima (Korat).  There are couple of nice Khmer (Cambodian) style temples/ruins.  The biggest one is called Phnom Rung, where it lays the sculptured stone of 'Inclining Narayana', the one that the Thais got it back from a Chicago museum a decade ago.   Like I've already told you, this trip is purely work, but I still have something for everyone.  See below for the pic of the week........

yes, it is a Buriram dog!

I was taking a break from work, after I decided to walk around the place with my hand equipped with the latest state of the art still digital camera, I stumbled into this dog.   That pic and the pic of my sneakered feet :-)

At home front, I'm now the master of the house.  hmm... I always am actually.   Ron has gone home, he should be vacationing with his family in Canada now, then back to school in Autumn.   The heat in the states should make him miss Bangkok more or less.  Talking about heat, it's been raining again in Thailand, as you may all have heard the headlines about the flash flood across Asia.  Bangkok is still flood free, but not some provinces north and east.

Believe it or not, I have started planning about my journey yet again.  This year, I'm toying with the idea of Amsterdam, and Germany.   yeah yeah yeah, I know I was in Amsterdam last March, but I lost a film in my camera, so what I have of the city is just a couple of photographs.  Then, I will visit my good 'old' friend and his brothers in Germany.  Timing is TBD, probably end Sept. or early Oct.

You've probably noticed the improvement of this edition.  This page has been written on Netscape Composer.  It's so easy, and fun.  For your information I have been writing my home page from the original HTML code, so it's more like programming than writing.  Being an engineer as I am, nothing is impossible.  There are so many thing that I'd like to do for my page such as putting up the guest book, and some nice pictures.  As you can tell, I really need a new background pic.

Oh, another news, I am now a proud owner of a 333 MHz PC equipped with 40X CDRom, and modem all of which cost me a hefty baht 9,000! (or about $250).  I know, I know it's unbelievably inexpensive, but good bargain doesn't come easy.

That's all folk, looking forward to see you again next month with breathtaking pictures, right here at 'Pete's Very First Home Page'

have a Grrrrrrreat month, everyone
