Day 17: Telegraph Cove, Nanaimo & Home

Sunday, 8/10

Telegraph Cove, Vancouver Island We left Port Hardy at 6:30 and started driving south and stopped at Telegraph Cove in the morning for breakfast. This is a nice little fishing resort, there are small houses on a boardwalk that you can rent for the night. We walked around and took a couple pictures but we knew that we had to get going. We arrived in Nanaimo at 12:50 at Duke Pt. which is the new ferry dock several miles south of the old one. We had to wait until 3:45 for a ferry as we had just missed the last Vancouver ferry by 15 minutes. It was a two hour crossing, and we ate on the ferry so that we would not have to stop on the way home. We drove straigfht thru after getting gas at the border and arrived home at 8:30 pm. We drove 418 miles today and 7268 total miles in 17 days.
