This is the very beautiful city of Lefkas, the largest city and "capital" of the island. A very unique place, where the streets, small houses and churches remind of old times and of a different world. A city full of life, action, entertainment, but with a lot of quiet spots for the quiet people as well. Once you cross the Perama Bridge and the Mponte Bridge, you're going to start smelling the salt from the sea and start capturing graphic moments of the city in your heart. This is a city where romanticism rose, lived and still survives today, with moments like the ones below. A city with mostly kind people ready to show with pride their city and ready to help a stranger. Anybody that spends some time in this place won't like to leave for nothing. Night time is a very romantic time here, but also very active.
Coming in to the city from the Mponte Bridge, you can take a walk along side the "Evari", looking at all the dance clubs, bars and restaurants that are full of life at summer time, like IL Posto, Excess Club, Di Giorgio Pizzaria and Diavlos the last one of them. Past that, you'll start noticing the old streets and houses. There are so many little streets that might confuse you, but they all lead near the Plateia (central square), the other center of life in the city. These are the houses where local historic persons lived and grew up, with some dating even back to the 16th and 17th centuries. At the point where the street starts widening up starts a different "part" of the small city as well.
