Men wore hip high leggings, loin cloth and moccasins, all made from the of elk, deer, antelope, or buffalo. Customarily, no shirt was worn. Women wore deerskin dresses, good ones having elk-tusks sewn on the front, reaching half-way below the knee, with elbow length sleeves open at the armpits and tied with thongs. Tight leggings, slipped on like stockings, extended from ankle to knee, and moccasins were ornamented with quill work.
