Don Stoneman - 12/15/99 01:04:04 My Email:donstoneman@home.com Country: Canada Organization: Better Farming (magazine) | Comments: I'm sorry to see Thailand going to hell like that. I visited there for three weeks in 1995. A very beautiful country. I still have very good memories and good photographs. It was pleasing to see your photos. |
Koen and Phinnie - 11/13/99 16:05:34 | Comments: Great website man, although Phinnie hoped to see some more "luub lamok" on it! What do I envy the live of a bachelor in Thailand. What is the level of rocks you are currently climbing, 6 to 7? I will soon mail you to ask some pai-tiouw trips for Krabi. Both Phin and me are doing fine! We regret that you will be gone when we visit Thailand next year! Cheers, Koen |

I have been mucho impressed whenever I have strolled by. I hope we can meet up when you are back home (before you head off to Vancouver or some more exotic place) to hear some more of y ur great stories. |

J.D. - 09/13/99 06:10:18 | Comments: I have noticed that there have been a substantial number hits to the East Timor feature over the last week (the count tripled). I have, however, not recieved any comments or emails or the like. I hope those who are accessing the feature are finding it i formative. It would be great if you could leave a note saying either it is garbage or it was informative, ... whatever. I can only hope that the government of Canada, among others, will get the picture that they are accomplices to the whole terrible mess and that good ol' Lloyd Axworthy will bust a stronger move against this ridiculousness. Governments have their amnesty to protect themselves...so the least they can do is recognize the error of their ways and begin to make ammends after years of covering their eyes and ears. |

I have been travelling in Mexico for 2 months and would have run a 'live' website save for lack of access to puters. I stumbled accross your site while doing a search for papayas... But anyway your work sounds interesting. Perhaps you could tell me how you got involved with such a project/who to contact |

The places you get to visit are amazing. But you show me that rock climbing is just not for me. Maybe one day I'll try out the wall they have at St. Laurent Shopping Centre in Ottawa |

Wally - 08/12/99 04:40:31 My Email:wmackay@ican.net Country: Uh..Canada | Comments: JD..Mon dieux(sp?). Great photos, huge cliffs. Don't fall. Things are good here, but two kids keep one grounded and busy. Jilly and I finishing up the summer with the kids here in Van. Not alot of new news. Working hard...work is easier, more fun with les time to prep and all. Went to Guelph in early July, some large landscaping projects have virtually changed the town into Toronto. Nick is almost 4, Jamie is coming on 2. We do alot of hiking out her..Whistler, Capilano etc. Keep it simple, eat well, dri k well you know, the French-canadian influence. Cheers. |

I'd LOVE to eventually check out the place where those latest climbing pics were taken. In the second set of pics, the one that you scanned from the post card...http://www.oocities.org/TheTropics/Resort/1207/album5_9.html...is that boy having his way that oxen? Looks like it, anyway!! Anyhoo, old chap, will type to you again later. Paul Kestle |
Jessica - 08/10/99 15:07:46 My Email:jbtorrens@hotmail.com Country: Canada | Comments: Hi again! I just thought I'd add some web sites that you might be interested in re: economics. PROUT stands for Progressive Utilization Theory and for me is the only theory that comes close to my personal ideology. www.prout.org www.globaltimes.net/economy/index.htm Global Times is a newsletter that outlines the relief and development efforts of Ananda Marga - definitely worth a read. Namaska'r! |
Jessica Torrens - 08/10/99 14:57:45 My Email:jbtorrens@hotmail.com Country: Canada | Comments: It is so nice to see you and Scott enjoying life and nature. You are doing excellent work; I'm sure we all would like to be contributing to the global society in such a meaningful way. The prologue helped me to understand exactly what it is you do. How inspiring! Thanks. |
Chris - 06/08/99 05:14:22 My Email:tayvet@intergate.bc.ca Country: Canada Organization: Exceptionally Voracious Imbibers of Libations (E.V.I.L.) | Comments: Hey Man, the concerns you are expressing on food security vs The Wortd Economy in fact sounds reminiscent of a conflict right here in Canada, where small scale farmers are fighting for their way of life against the menace of corporate large scale agricu ture. Many of the dairy farmers here are being left with the options of giving up their livleyhood or trying to compete on the BIG playing field - which is in fact another way of abandoning that cherished way of life... The only thing preventing "a fair free-market system" is the quota system which tells them how much they can produce. You can guess how popular THAT is with our Americvan cousins! As always old friend your insight is wonderfully and painfully astute. |

I work in a french NGO : RONGEAD (Réseau des ONG européennes sur l'agroalimentaire, le commerce, l'environnment et le développement) whose is very active on international trade and development issues. I would be very much interested if we could have some sort of collaboration or information exchange, if you think it is possible. I've already been in ontact with Ms Poh and Aileen Kwa knows RONGEAD, as she attended the Whashington meeting, last year, which was organised by IATP and the FPH. If you are interested, I can send to you an article I wrote on rice international trade and WTO but, sorry, it's n french (I suspect that you are fluent in french, but i'm not sure..). Hope to hear of you. Rose-Marie |
