At first when I thought that I would like to have my own homepage, I began to think what 's the first thing I should do if I want to construct one by myself without knowledge in HTML language or any kind of computer languages.
I found that I hardly find a complete direction, I had to find the way to do this thing step by step and it's rather waste the time in finding each thing in each time. So this is the time I decide to make this direction for others who want to have a page for yourself but doesn't know how to start first.
Don't mind me if you think that this is not a complete one, I only want to make it easy for you , and I will be very glad to know that this could help you. If it does I want only a link to my site ...I'll appreciate that much.....Thanks
Ten easy steps in creating your own homepage
Choose one of the program to create it . There are many HTML Editor that you can use to make your homepage..I've got the names that were reviewed and recommended to be good and easier programs to use(this is just for a guide), those are AOLPress, Homesite, Hot Dog Pro, Hot Metal Pro, WebEdit (they got special star more than 5 stars...means recommend) or if you want a newer you can find other newly review and choose it by your own.
Find the program and load it to your hard drive, install it and make it ready for use..:)
This time you must have a story of you or something you want to present in your webpage and create it with your program, following the direction from tutorial or help program, I won't tell in the details because every program has a different way you have to find it out by yourself.
You can find some free graphics, wallpapers, animate, letters, bullet, etc. that you want to put in your webpage and don't forget to put credits or links to the place where you get them...:)
If you have more pages to post, you can do it now. Do you get a space for your homepage from your service provider?..Don't worry if you don't have it...There is much space on the net that you can be a member and post your webpage and they are FREE.webpages Try to choose one or more if you like.
Put your page in that space you will know the way to do that when you are the member. Try the first page and view it, if you don't like or want to change you can do it at anytime.
If you want to have a counter on your page (sure that you would like to have..:)), there are 2 ways to have it
Create it yourself - this way you will have it on your page and doesn't link to other site
Use a counter that is for commercial or there are some that cost free.
If you don't want to create your guestbook, there are many free guestbook in the net also, such as Toast, Lpage.com, etc. You can create anything in it yourself:- letter colour, wallpaper, bars, etc.
Test and check letters and links in all your pages .
If it's ready now it's the time for advertising your site in the search engines such as Yahoo, Infoseek, Lycos, WebCrawler and others by going to Add me , Submit-It, Internet Link Exchange, Free for All, WebStep Top 100, Free Links: The Ultimate Web Site Traffic Builder, 2001+ Places To Promote Your Web FREE!!
