LOCALIZATION OF THE ILHA DO MEL

• The Ilha do Mel is situated at the littoral of the state of Paraná, 2,5 sea miles away from Pontal do Sul and 15 sea miles from the city of Paranaguá. It occupies an area of about 27,62 km².
• You get there taking a boat at Pontal do Sul, the trip takes about 30 - 40 minutes (Price in april 1997: 2, 50 Reais). In high season (December - March) the boats leave every hour.
• Pontal do Sul you reach parting from the city of Curitiba (about 2 1/2 h by bus) or the city of Paranaguá (about 40 minutes by bus).
• There are two possible destinies on the island: Brasília or Encantadas (Encantadas is more crowded).
