Pattern from Heirloom Creations

The Welcome you see above is one of the first projects that I accomplished in "filet crochet". (The picture was taken by my husband while the "Welcome" was on the dining room table. No I didn't make that table cloth, I only make those to give away) I had done regular crochet for years. In fact my Grandmother taught me how when I was just a kid, say 8 or 9 years old. At that time she taught me how to make a chain. I think I made one to go around the house. Good thing it was a small house. I was visiting her while on a school vacation, and I must have been bored. At any rate, it has stayed with me lo these 40 some odd years. I love it as much now as I did then. The simple fact of making something from nothing, so to speak, is a great feeling.

Speaking of making somethng from nothing, this is the very first pattern I made up all by myself. I was, and am, so proud of it. It came from my mind,(now that's scary) and went on paper, then crocheted, and finally in a frame that my husband made. He makes all my frames and I do the matting. What a feeling. It may not look like much to you, but to me, it's a masterpiece.
As soon as I get my own scanner, I hope to have more pictures, and yes, even some patterns on graphs to show you.

If you see anything that you like, please let me know. I need all the encouragement I can get.
