BEHIND THE SCENES

I
have too many good friends to try and say something about all of them, so I'm sorry if I missed you! I'm going to try and do this in some sort of "order," so be patient (Jenn *grin*).

Becky is like a sister to me. I've known her all my life, and she's the only childhood friend I have left (not that that bothers me). Because we've known each other so long, we've literally been through it all, including the times when we wanted to tear each other apart and didn't speak to each other for a couple of weeks. But she and her twin sons (Brandon and Bryan) are very dear to me, and I love them to death. There have been some times in my life when I don't know what I would have done without her, and I'm sure she feels the same!

Jason... I had a hard time trying to decide where to put him on my friends page. It's hard to have to put him on here because we were together for 9 months of the year and 9 months we've known each other :( If we don't get back together, he's someone I would want to remain friends with. Jase is a great guy who's loving and caring with a great sense of humor, but best of all, I know he still loves me.. even if it might only be as friends now. He'll always be special to me, and I hope he never forgets that! Those of you who read my page about him when we were still together know how I feel about him (and they STILL haven't changed a bit) :) I've been trying to get him to come back to the States (he's still in Korea in the Marines :Þ) for my graduation in June, and it just might happen!

Stephanie is my cousin but also one of the very best friends I've ever had. She feels more like a sister than a cousin, and we've been told many times that we even LOOK more like sisters! The definition of ever-lasting friendship is me and Steph. We've been through our fair share (liking the same guys, fights, etc) and have come out better friends. When I haven't talked to her in forever, I know that when we finally get together again, you'll find us together for hours on end trying to catch up! She's getting married in September, and I have the privilege of being her maid of honor!! I'm really excited!

BJ. Hmmmmmmm... She's a friend of the family who's known me literally since birth and has been a great friend - a very knowledgable and helpful friend - for about the past 7 years (since I was old enough to need "guidance"). As I can with Mom, I can talk to her about anything, and I know she'll listen with an open mind and not think anything of something out of the ordinary I might tell her. She's very close to God, and I think that helps with her friendships.

Speaking of being close to God, Leslie is one of my godmoms, and I met her when she came to be an intern pastor at my church many years ago (don't ask how many). She's an ordained minister with her own church in Weldon, Saskatchewan, so she offers a different perspective on things :) I'm so excited because she finally had a baby girl (about a year ago)!! *grin* She's been married for at least 4 years now, and I know she's going to be a GREAT mommy :) She's also a great friend, and despite our age difference, she's always been there for me, and I hope she always will be :)

Alisha and I went to junior high and high school together, and she's the only one from high school that I still talk to. (I think I'm starting a pattern with staying friends with only one person from each stage of my life) We used to be attached at the hip; always together, but we've both moved, and I've gone onto college, so we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like to anymore :( But we're still really good friends, and I thank heaven that I met her :) She's also getting married.. in July :)

Jenn is different from EVERYONE. I met her here at school through hockey (what else?? *roll eyes*), and we became fast friends. We've been roomies for almost 2 years now, and we have our tense moments, but that doesn't take away from our friendship. Sometimes I think it adds to our closeness. We have a special understanding about each other that isn't found very often. I've been through some REALLY rough times since I started college 3 1/2 years ago, and she's priceless and without her, I honestly don't know how I would've made it through those times. She and her friendship mean a tremendous amount to me, and I'd give the world to stay friends with her. She's the kind of friend I want for a lifetime: solid, consistent, and always there for me.

Chris and Gene are 2 of my friends from back home in Toledo. Chris I've known for many years (like 14 or so) and Gene for only 5, but both are really great examples of how you can stay friends with someone you've been in a "relationship" with. They're both really great friends and friends I don't want to lose anytime soon :P They'd give me the world if I asked, and I really love them for it!

Rick is another person I met here at school - through skating (surprise surprise), and even though he's already graduated with a job in the real world, we're still close. We don't talk as often any more, though, and I really miss him. I just saw him, and it was REALLY great to be able to talk again. Hopefully, he'll get some time off soon to come see me because Lord knows, we got a lot of catching up to do.. he'd have to be here for a week!!

I have a lot of friends here at school that are dear to me and very much worthy of being mentioned on my friends page :) I've known Mark since I started here at OU, and we've only grown closer. As have me and John - who I don't remember how I met :) Then, there's the guys I play or used to play hockey with (Barak, Chad, Ben, Tommy, CK, Linville, Ferro, Rudy, Bryan, Kelly, etc), Eric & Ivin, Eric, Eric (my ex-RA from my sophomore year), and I could go on and on.

Then, there are my friends from IRC (Internet Relay Chat). I don't remembert who I met first, but since I started in April of 1997, I've met many wonderful people. Chris (Rosco) is from New York City; Chris (Spin) from Canada; Pete (Petebert) from Pittsburgh; Arsalan (_power) from Pakistan; James (JClaydon) from Vancouver; Daniel (Buddhake) from Wisconsin; David (Suavedog) from Boston; Jackie (Flyerfan) from Canada; Ach and Kasa from Finland; Stan from Jersey (he's a character!!); Cauly from Logan, OH; and many others. These people are the reasons I stay on IRC, and I'm grateful I met each and every one of them.

I'll try and say more about each person, but for now, I think just mentioning them is good enough! hehe
