The "Black Knights Team" is an elite mobile suit team, that specializes in melee combat. Their Goufs have had the smaller shoulder spikes removed, in addition to the finger guns being replaced with a normal left-hand manipulator. The normal left hand allows their Goufs to wield their custom Non-Heat Sabers, at the same time as their Heat Rods are being wielded in their Gouf's right hand, giving them superior melee combat abilities. Since they don't normally carry a shield, or a machine gun, the Goufs weigh less than a standard one, which increases their speed and mobility. Although all three Goufs are painted mostly black, the individual members are distinguishable by their custom color schemes: the "Blood Knight" has red trim, the "Bone Knight" has light-sand trim, and the "Blade Knight" has a light-blue chrome trim. | |

The MS-07B-1A Gouf is a slight vari- ation of the standard MS-07B Gouf. The main difference is the addition of two 40mm head machineguns, for in- creased close-range combat abilities. The only other difference between this variant, and the standard Gouf, is a slight increase in its thruster power, to offset the slight addition in its weight, caused by the head-mounted machine- guns. This minor thruster increase maintains the exact same performance values as the standard Gouf. Note: The basic idea for this Gouf Variant, actually came from someone, who's known on the Mecha and Animation HQ's forums, as "Mad Antiramon." (The "Standard" Color Scheme for it, though, is my idea.) |

The MS-07B-5 Gouf Light-Arms, is an opposite concept from the MS-07C-3 Gouf Heavy-Arms. A rare suit design, the first one was created out of normal a MS-07B (which is why it's considered a B-type sub-variant, instead of an A-type sub-variant,) and was intended for a specific pilot, (although it's currently unknown just who that pilot actually was.) First the built-in heat rod was removed, as well as the five 75mm finger-guns, which were replaced with a normal manipulator hand. Next came the elimination of the 3 spikes on each shoulder dome, leaving just smooth shoulder domes, like the type seen on MS-05 Zaku Is. Then, to further decrease the suit's weight, certain sections of armor were thinned, (although this is not apparent from external views.) Although the thinner armor wasn't as good at protecting the suit against enemy weapons, the lower weight allowed for better perform- ance. Once enough weight had been trimmed off the basic suit, a MS-09 Dom's heat sword was added into the design, along with twin 40mm head machine guns for a small amount of defense. With its lower weight allowing for an increase in the maximum running speed and jumping height, the Gouf Light-Arms was a difficult target to hit at ranged combat. And for close-range combat, the decrease in weight also allowed better agility and maneuverability, which, when combined with the large heat sword, made the Gouf Light-Arms a serious threat to almost anyone who was unlucky enough to get close to it. Like normal ground-use Zakus, the Gouf Light-Arms were typically armed with a normal ranged weapon, such as the standard ZMP-50B 120mm machine gun, the newer MMP-78 120mm machine gun, or the MMP-80 90mm machine gun. |

Based on the MS-07C-3 Gouf, Heavy Arms Type, the MS-07C-4 Heavy Gouf increases the firepower of the suit, dramatically. Adding the same backpack-mounted 180mm cannon seen on the MS-06K Zaku Cannon, the Heavy Gouf adds medium-range capabilities onto the short-range abilities of the Gouf Heavy Arms Type, (although the right-side head cable had to be removed to fit the cannon in.) At the same time, it's defenses were increased, with the addition of two 60mm head vulcans, to compliment the head-mounted 30mm machine gun from the Gouf Heavy Arms' design. However, the massive increase in firepower came at the cost of a significant decrease in speed and maneuverability, which meant that the Heavy Gouf was prone to taking hits. Because of this, it wasn't very popular with pilots, despite the large amount of weaponry. |
MS-07D Gouf, Desert Type | |

The MS-07B Gouf was effective as a close-range ground-combat mobile suit, but suffered some problems when used in certain harsh environments, just like Zakus and Doms. Because of this, several standard MS-07B Goufs were modified in the field, to create the MS-07D Gouf Desert Type. The Desert Gouf's main improvements for the harsh environments, were sand filters over its joints, and a large heat radiator, which replaced the standard backpack. To lessen the problem with the finger guns running out of ammo quickly, a larger-capacity ammo clip, (similar to the kind seen on the MS-07H Gouf Flight Types,) is added into the design. Like the normal Goufs from which they were made, the Desert Goufs also have a heat rod mounted in the right arm, and can carry various weapons in its right hand, (such as the common 120mm machine gun used by most Zaku variants,) to add to the firepower of the five finger guns. |
