For the current story follow Conrim
Kare stalked about her weyr in her new home for a turn or so, Ryslen Weyr. The nineteen turn old dragonrider wore a light colored winter coat and looked outside where her white dragon, Oroth, lounged glowing a brilliant white and soking up the bright sun that shown down on the snow covered bowl. Next to Oroth Kare’s bronze fire lizard Conrim also lay flat, wings spread out on the cool stone ledge soaking up the sun.

“ARGGG! I can’t believe that pompous windbag!” Kare growled kicking a stray rock out of the weyr so that it soared over her lifemate and pet and down towards the Weyr Bowl below, “If I could I’d scorch him for suggesting the flight be whites and lights only!” You are not the only one, rider mine! Oroth replied her rainbow eyes shifting between red, orange, and yellow for a few minutes, Sovreth’s been the only one to fly me, he’s supposed to always fly me! Camoth hit your rider for me! Oroth snorted even though the blue pairing were now back at Talor Cliff Weyr.

“Did he do it?” Kare’s green-gray eyes flashed hopefully. He says that his rider had a major hang over right now and is still soar from what you did to him. V’nor did practically the same when he heard as Camoth tells me. the large white replied smugly. Kare smiled sadly thinking about her weyrmate for the past four turns. She finally situated herself on the bed that was in the weyr and looked up at the ceiling.

They aren’t too bad looking though… the white sighed as she looked about at the white and light males that were about, Sovreth still deservers to be here. So does V’nor… wait that’s it! Kare sat up startling both her dragon and fire lizard on the ledge. She quickly made her way to the door and headed down the corridors, now where was that room.

“Look, I’m going to be here for a few turns so I have no say over what happens really in a flight but I want to know if that is possible!” Kare said sternly in her deadpan voice. She now sat looking dead into Weyrwoman Tiyanni’s eyes, in her office, having explained her feeling of dilemma with the flight. Tiyanni almost seemed annoyed at Kare but soon nodded with a small smile on her features.

“I understand, Kare,” Tiyanni replied, “Even if I wanted to I couldn’t stop you from having V’nor here during the flight, but I won’t budge on changing it just so your Oroth’s Sovreth can chase. That would just cause mayhem with all the other none white and lights and then I’d have to allow everyone in. You may even invite him to stay on at Ryslen until you move on to that new Weyr… what did they finally decide on calling it again?”

“S… uh, Seiryuu Weyr, Weyrwoman Tiyanni,” Kare replied with a smile. The Weyrwoman nodded and waved Kare off finally.

Kare nodded her thanks and walked out the door shutting it slowly behind her only to lean on the closed door. Conrim suddenly appeared chirping and trilling questionably at his mistress.

“YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!” the white rider whooped snatching the bronze out of the air and kissing him on the nose before racing back to their Weyr.

Kare sat next to Oroth on the dragon’s couch and finished scribing the note. Her fingers were chilled but she didn’t care, V’nor and Sovreth might soon be here with some arrangement with Falora and Tiyanni. It had been nearly two months since she’d seen them and was very eager to give them the good news. Kare carefully slipped the note into a small tube attached to Conrim’s right forearm. Capping it she set the fire lizard on the couch.

“Now, Conrim,” she stated almost giggling with anticipation, “Take that to V’nor…. Go on to V’nor, you remember V’nor.” Conrim tilted his tiny head to the side as Kare sent him images of her weyrmate and Talor Cliff Weyr. The bronze finally chirped happily showing the images back to his mistress. Kare smiled picking up the five turn old bronze and giving him a kiss before gently tossing him into the air. No sooner had he steadied himself in the air than the bronze disappeared between.

“Now we just have to wait, Ro,” Kare smiled and looked at her radiant white, “Hopefully he’ll get the go before you fly.” I’ll fly first for sure, my rider. This may be a Flurry, but I will not tolerate those lesser females in the air at the same time as me! I know, I don’t think you’ll have to worry much though. the two sat watching the Weyr Bowl as small light flakes of snow started to fall once more. This Flurry would be interesting to say the least.

It wasn’t but ten minutes later that Conrim popped back into the guest weyr, chirping proudly and performing an aerial display. Kare ignored the tricks her fire lizard was performing for her eyes, as well as Oroth’s, were on the little message held tightly inside the tube. Quit goofing off and land so we can read that note! both rider and dragon shouted mentally at the pleased bronze. Conrim chirped questionably but obeyed and Kare practically ripped the tube from her fire lizards forearm. Dragon, fire lizard, and rider fell silent for a time as the 19 turn old looked over the note. A sly grin plastered her face Oroth picked up on the vibes as well. They’re coming! the dragoness roared out happily making the walls in the whole of the Weyr ring, and more than likely make many people grumble.

For some reason Kare felt the need to clean herself and nodded with a wink at her white, “Watch for them, Ro.” The white’s eyes whirled a pleasant blue green with specks of excited gold and Kare could almost swear that her lifemate was glowing brighter… or at least didn’t look as gray as she had in the past two months since they’d been told whites only. You’d think I’d snooze when I knew my love was coming in within the hour? You’re the one who’s silly now, Kare. the white replied unconsciously showing off at the same time as ridding her ledge and herself of snow. Kare ran up and gave her large white a loving kiss on her muzzle and nearly danced to the bathing pool she was lucky enough to have connected to her weyr.

Conrim joined his mistress, curiously yet ended up falling asleep on the side of the fair sized tub. Kare was in the pool no sooner than her clothes hit the floor. For a few minutes she reviled in the warmth of the water. I could live with winters if it meant having a warm bathing pool to wash in… Kare scrubbed sweet sand into her body and her hair and after a time dunked herself under water. As her head was under water, she didn’t hear the two bulges that were happening outside her weyr; yet she did feel Oroth’s mood grow happy and very loving as a quick image of Sovreth played through Kare’s head, her head surfaced quickly.

“Kare?”

The white rider’s heart skipped a beat upon hear the soft tentative voice of her weyrmate’s which she hadn’t heard in so long.

“V’nor?” she called out, almost worried that it was just her imagination. The sudden stop of boots coupled with the feeling of Oroth seeming to snuggle up to a larger, and warmer, object told her that it was true, and so she continued on with his dead pan slightly suggestive voice, “V’nor, I’m in here.” Kare slid herself up to the side of the bathing pool so that all but her arm and her head were hidden from view. She smiled as V’nor entered the room. A smile crossed V’nor’s face as well and soon was coupled with a blush she knew fairly well.

“Sorry. Did I interrupt you?” he asked and Kare had to restrain herself from chuckling, V’nor still had that gentlemen’s side to him; she’s always liked to play with that part of him.

“Nope, didn’t interrupt me at all,” she winked as an idea formed in her head, possibly from being away from him for so long, “I didn’t realize it was so cold out there, you’re cheeks are bright red.” She couldn’t help the chuckle that formed on her lips down and she brought her index finger and thumb up to the sides of her own face and pulled them down the two scars caused by her long dead runnerbeast, “hmm, why don’t you bring your things inside. After that you can take a warm bath, that will make sure you don’t get a head cold.”

She watched her weyrmate closely and could practically see the gears in his head turning. He knew her well enough by now. She felt Oroth seeming to chuckle where she was, with Sovreth coiled around her.

“That sounds great; it is getting chilly out there,” V’nor finally replied, obviously playing along, “I'll be right back.” Kare hid her girlish giggles by dunking her herself up to her just below her nose. She was back up before V’nor called to her again.

“Where should I put my things?” he asked looking in the doorway again, with his carry-sack and Sovreth’s riding straps, his all to familiar, to Kare, silly grin plastered on his face.

“The door for now,” she smiled as he put his things down, “now, are you going to warm yourself up, or do I have to do that.” Kare suddenly found herself having gone to far with her game and dunked herself under again; for once she being the one embarrassed by her remarks. She came up once again to find V’nor seeming to fidget and she smiled again at him, her composure once again in place.

“I wouldn't mind either,” he replied coolly though Kare was sure that she was still pushing his buttons, “I think I'll join you in there before my face freezes off, though.”

Hmm, still as nice as ever. I think we’ll leave you two be Oroth replied with a chuckle before nuzzling Sovreth once again. Both rider and dragon were happy. Sadly the white would get a new mate in her next flight. Just to be with them again I’ll fly again quicker than usual for you, Kare! And for our weyrmates, thanks Oroth. Now all they had to do was wait for the Flurry to happen.
