Here's one of the hottest bands around. Stavesacre plays hard and has a solid faith in the Lord. Their album, Friction, was released April '96 on tooth and nail records. The band consists of four members: Dirk Lemmens (bass), Mark Saloman (lead vocals), Jeff Bellew (guitar), and Jeremy Moffett (drums).
Stavesacre can't really be compared to any mainstream bands that easily. They sort of have their own style and sound. They're hard core, but they are quite melodic. Many times in songs, Mark Saloman yells out lyrics that don't sound like he's singing, but it's not rap. In the courses of their songs, they often sing though. In certain ways they could be compared to Grammatrain, Silverchair and Bush (Bush X in Canada). They could also be compared to the Beastie Boys. They can't really be catagorized or compared accurately though.
Stavesacre's lyrics are so solid, but yet, so deep. There is no doubt that these guys love God and think it's a nessesity that he's part of your life. But sometimes if you look deep into the lyrics, they have even greater meaning.
Friction is Stavesacre's first album. You'd think that they'd be developing, but the band consists of members that have been in other bands before. Because of this, Stavesacre sounds like they know what they're doing and sound so mature. They have a great sound and awesome lyrics. Friction is a must get album!!!!
