Each skill that is a Focus gain Experience Points (or XPs) when used successfully during a gaming session.When these XPs are high enough,we can see if the skill have raised by one level by "challenging" it.
When you made a successfull roll(not an automatic success),a roll of 1,
or a roll of 20 under a Focus skill during a gaming session you earn 1d6
XPs(or 3.5 XPs at choice) in it.Even if you made 10 successfull rolls in a
Focus skill,you'll get only 1d6 XPs.
The next gaming session if you used successfully the skill you'll earn 2d6
(or 7 XPs),then 3d6(or 10.5 XPs),and so on.
When the character will challenge the skill,he'll lose all the XPs in that
skill and the process will start over again at the 1d6 XPs
Players can change any Focus at any time,but must forfeit all the XPs earned
in that skill.
Players can challenge a skill when the XPs attain a certain level based on the skill difficulity:

To challenge a skill,the player rolls a d20 against the skill Related Attribute(RelA).If the player has enough XPs,he could make several rolls, but his skill will increase only by one in case of several successfull rolls. The difficulity of the roll is based on the current skill level:

If the roll is successfull the skill level is increased by one.Skills only improve before game play begins or after a gaming session.Remember to check if you become Familiar with the skill.
Players are also given miscleanous XPs to increase skills that aren't Focus skills.They receive 2d6 Miscleanous XPs(or 7 at choice) at the end of the gaming session.These XPs can only be used to challenge (E)asy or (M)oderate skills of a current level less than their RelA.
Primary and secondary Attributes can increase through massive training or studying at the GM's discretion.Characters who want to increase one of their Attributes must place 2 of their Focuses on their Attribute for a full year. The Attribute increases on 1 with a d6 (16.6% chance of success).An Attribute can't be increased over the race's average+3,unless the character has a special Gift.
The best means of increasing a skill is to learn it with a teacher.
The teacher should have a better skill level than his student of course!
The trainig duration varies with the skill difficulty:

At the end of the training,the teacher rolls against his Teaching skill and
the student should challenge the skill as for experience rules.
If you aren't Familiar with the skill you will get the skill at
Familiar level after a successfull increase.
Here's the list of special modifiers for the challenge roll:
For subsequent trying at a same level,the duration is (?)divised by two (with a minimum of one week).
There's a limit on the number of skills that a character can train in
the same time:
Approximative time dedicated to training one skill is 12 hours per week.
If you decide to train alone you should success on a roll against Intelligence too (or Will if the skill RelA is Intelligence) with the same modifiers as for the challenge roll(there's no Teaching roll).You can't increase a skill over the skill RelA level with autodidact training.Nor you can't train alone skills with Education or Technology RelA
A character can learn skills with Education,Intelligence or Technology RelA with computer programs or books.They act as virtual teachers,it's the GM who fixes the Teaching ability of them.
