Cool Combos!

These use cards that you can get in any current Magic expansion. These seem to turn the tide against an opponent for me than the other combos.

4 Sage Owls, 4 Portents, 4 Foresights

The number of these cards won't matter too much. With these cards, you can sort your deck easily, if you always put the Portents and the Sage Owls at the bottom of the cards you look at. Use the Foresights to yank the undeeded lands from your deck, and you're all set. (Now if you only had enough room to put in your deck theme!)

Prosperity, Cadaverous Bloom, Drain Life

Fifth Turn Kill 80% of the Time if you have four of each card in your deck, 'nuff said.

Mana Chains, Thirst

Mana Chains is a nice little card, which will always off a creature, but it does take a long time to get the desired effects, unless your opponent is mana screwed, so make your opponent's creature ineffective as well, making that creature worthless, until it is too late.

Indestructible Aura, Tolarian Enchanter

It seems that the Tolarian Enchanter seems to die rather easily, so help him out by making him, well, indesctructible! Imagine, attacking, and grabbing a big creature! (Throw in a creature pumper on the Enchanter, just to make your opponent want to block!

Strands of Night, Buried Alive, Orcish Farmer, Orcish Squatters

This is one HUGE combo! =) First play ALL of these cards! Then start bringing your creatures from the graveyard, hopefully something nasty like Spirit of the Night. Then when they try to block, you can get your Orcish Squatters in, stealing a land! Now, if this wasn't confusing enough, turn that land into a swamp, and use it to bring another graveyard critter into play! Repeat, until your opponent dies. The cool thing about this combo is that your opponent is facing multiple creature threats.

Itician Moneychanger, Dense Foilage or Bubble Matrix

OK, another Fallen Empires common combo! The only reason the Moneychanger sucks is because any little card can take him out. Playing Dense Foilage or Bubble Matrix solves that, making your Moneychanger into a 0/2 Life Gainer from heaven, basically giving you a life a turn! You can't go wrong with that!

Fear, Bog Wraith

OK, we all know that Black has some powerful toughness pumpers, such as Unholy Strenght, Feast of the Unicorn, and Howl from Beyond, so play fear on a swampwalker, so you will only have to worry about the, *giggle* Artifact creatures, and you can make your creatures power as high as you want AND not worry about blockers!

Thran Tome, Ancestral Knowledge

This is a awesome combo. Say that you want to draw all of the cards you've seen in Ancestral Knowledge, well, if you stack them just right, you can make sure that you're opponent will pull out only a few power cards, while you pulled the rest of them! =)

Doomsday, Thunderbolt

If your opponent is on the brink of destruction, you can pull out the only card that will kill him with Doomsday! You can use it like a Tutor as well as a effective library stacker.

Fire Whip, Fungusaur

A variaton on the nasty Tim/Fungusaur deck! It is more cost effective than a Tim, because of the sacrifice you can do on your enchantment.

Emperial Armor/Kithkin Armor, Rabid Wombat

Not only are the great Sacrifice Enchantments great in Weatherlight, they can help save your creature! And if they still die, all of the enchantments can be used all at once causing all sorts of nasty effects.

Griffin Canyon, Candlebra of Tawnos

So a Griffin Deck is trying to tangle with a few Sengirs, and you absolutely need a big critter. So use the Candlebra to untap you Griffin Canyon! Since you can use it over and over, how would you like a 10/10 Griffin? The Griffin's keep getting better and better!

Animate Artifact, Thirst

Well, this will let you "turn off" cards like Winter Orbs and such, but wouldn't you feel better if you played Energy Flux? =)

Wake of Vultures, SeaSinger

Well, we all know that SeaSinger has a habit of making friends, but since he can only keep one "friend" at a time, introduce your newfound-critter to the Vultures when the Vultures. Hehehehe....

Rabid Wombat, Favorable Destiny

Want to put the finishing touch on your 12/12 flying, trample, crazy critter? Throw on Favorable Destiny, (or a card that makes Mr. Wombat untargetable) and you critter will be near unstoppable!

Peace Talks, Siren's Call

It kills every stinking creature your opponent controls! It's not too handy when you play it against a deck without creatures.

Juju Bouble, Mana Flare

The big problem is the upkeep and the mana required to make it work well, because you need a ton of it. So throw a Mana Flare out, and then things look a little more up, now don't they? A life for every mana you tap? Cool! Just be sure that you have plenty of defense because you can't save your behind without destroying it.

Pillar Tombs of Aku, Creature Bond or Wrath of God

Well, let's say that your opponent is wreaking havoc with a first turn sengir, so Creature Bond him. Then play the Tombs and watch him squirm when he either pays 4 for the sengir to make you lose five life, or make him lose 5 life to keep his Sengir. Now if you played Wrath of God, then Play the Tombs, you can deal him 5 damage, for four mana! :)

Mortal Wound, Flare

This little combo can kill any creature! Just Flare, or ping the Mortal Wound guy, and he'll die! Easy, isn't it. :>

Query: How good is the Candlebra of Tawnos?

X: untap X lands. Besides avoiding the harmful effects of Power Surge, how useful is it. You can use it in a Winter Orb deck, use a Dark Ritual to untap tons of land. Someone explain this to me.

Ovimancer, Fastbond

This lets you Sheep someone for 2 life a turn! You can take out anything! This includes Tims, Royal Assassins, you name it! And you can toss in a Land's Edge to do some extra damage! :)

Vampirism, Reprisal

Oh! Wanna kill a ton of creatures AND get a card? Play Vampirism on your opponent, then Reprisal him. Nice combo because you can use Vampirism on your own guy as well. :)

Bottle of Suileman, Pyschic Transfer

If you play the bottle early enough, you can make him pay for it if you lose the coin flip. Just make sure that your even with your opponent for maximum damage.

Ritual of Steel (or Krovikan Fetish), Sandbar Crocidile

I'm trying to make a deck outta this combo for fun. It simply makes a Howling Mine out of your creature! Since the enchantment comes into play like the creature, you can draw a card every other turn.

Nettling Imp, Sorceress Queen, Any Vampire

I personally play a Vampire deck. This lets your vampire have a feast. The best vampire to do this is the Krovikian Vampire. He'll take the creature and make it yours! Only problem is that he can be bolted, so you might wanna throw a Krovikian Fetish on 'em. Baron Sengir would be a good choice too.

Painful Memories, Helm of Obedience

Well, you get a choice. Want a big creature? You know they're holding one in their hand, so play Painful Memories, and use the Helm, and grab to li'l critter. If they've got a spell, toss is back into their library and mill away. A ton of great cards, can be controlled/destroyed this way.

Mentda Griffin, Enduring Renewal

Don't ya really, really, hate the way your creatures go to the graveyard when they die? I really do to! Well build a Griffin Deck, then play a little Enduring Renewal. Now when your li'l Griffins go to the graveyard, use the Metenda Griffin to put them back into your hand! Of course, you'll need a Mana Flare to play all those Griffins quickly.

Cadaverous Bloom.

I'm trying several effects to get some infinty effects for the Cadaverous Bloom. First off, you can get 19 mana with a Unfullfilled Desires, if you have 19 life. You'll be down to 1 life, but it is a more expensive channel! A dark ritual or two will help you get the mana. This card is truly being drowned out because of the more obvious combo cards out there.

Searing Spear Arkasi, Volcanic Eruption.

Let's use the new flanking creatures! This will make any one of your creatures "unblockable". First play a Searing Spear Arkasi, then accidentally let the Instant Burn Card slip out of your hand in plain sight! Now, attack and if you have the mana, I really don't think that they'll block? You can use Incinerates, too.

Uktabi Cats, Gaia's Liege

Well, it isn't perfect, but it works! Once you change all their lands into forests, messing up their mana, go for broke and do yours, too! Then have a field day with your 10/10 Cats and Liege! Toss in a Waiting in the Woods for even more fun! You could build a deck around this idea!

Tainted Specter, Instill Energy, Regeneration

Let's put it this way, every time you can untap Tainted Specter, you get to make your opponent discard a card or toss it back to his library. What better way to untap a creature is Instill Energy. Put a Regeneration on him and it won't make how many cards your opponent discards. You can also do it to yourself, and use it like a Pestilence.

Binding Agony, Fire Covenant

The new Channel Fireball!!!! Just toast the Binding Agony-enchanted creature with Fire Covenant! Unfortunately, this combo won't be available in T2 for very long.

Celestial Dawn, Slieght of Mind, Magical Hack

Well, if you can white wash your colors, you might as well throw in a little color, right? This stupid combo is cool for only one purpose, to stop from getting Anarchyed and Flashfired. Of course after you play this combo, you might be turning blue from frusteration!

Pyroclasm, Blood of the Martyr, and Reverse Damage

This old combo is fun, because you get to toast all of your opponents weenies and get a bundle of life. Redirect all the damage from your creatures to yourself, then reverse it! Neato!

Maligiant Growth, Fyndhorn Elves, and Zur's Weirding

Well, let's be really annoying! After you get a ton of mana available, play a Zur's Weirding and a Maligiant Growth. Then if your opponent draws a Tranquility, counter it with Wierding. You might want to throw in some Fountain of Youths to keep your life all nice and in the double digits.

Krovikan Sorcerors, Jalum Tome, and Forbidden Crypt

Get a ton of cards, use them, throw them, and even get them all back the next turn! Just don't chew 'em like beef jerky! This suped up version of Regrowth is a nasty card. Combine it with a Despotic Specter so you can draw again, and quite possibly get the Crypt back with a recall! What fun!

Fermef Archers, Sapphire Charm

With the Fermef Archers, "skeet shooting" now becomes a viable way to deal with creautres. For example, simply give the attacking Durkwood Boars flight and fire away! If you had two archers, the only thing you couldn't take out is the Dreadnought and the like. Then you would need three!

Sabertooth Cobra, Mana Short

Does it seem like your opponent always has that mana to pay for the poison counter? Even though this combo might not win the game for you it WILL let you get your second counter. It would work even better if you attacked with multiple Cobras.

Lurgyoph, Soulshriek

With this combo you can effectively double the power of the horrendous Lurgy. Since it's an instant, you can use a Lance or a Fyndhorn Bow to add more creatures to the graveyard.

Breeding Pit, Ravenous Vampire

Well, if you can't beat them, out wait them. Just let your vamp keep eating the thrulls, until your Vampire can overpower the Killer Bees that just so happen to have 30 forests available! But by that time, you'll deck your opponent!

Drudge Skeleton, Feast of the Unicorn

This all black combo automatically creates a cheap Eron the Rentless using only 4 mana if the Skeleton is out. Since it regenerates, your opponent will be hard pressed to attack with that Erhamn Djinn!

Time Elemental, Statis

One of the classic combos of the century, this combo makes it impossible for your oppnent to untap. It takes a while to get the mana, but once your opponent attacks, then simply play Statis, then, on the end of his turn, suck it back into your hand! Play it over and over and over!!!!!

Jester's Cap, Reconstruction(s) (or Agrvavian Archelogist)

O.K. Think about it. First toast three of his wonderful cards. Then bring the Cap back into your hand! With so many cards out to get cards back from the graveyard, noboby would have a hard time using this idea to put pressure on someone. Think Millstone Deck.

Llanowar Elves, Ritual of Subdual

This combo is a fun one, especally in a all green deck. I mean, if your opponent can't use his mana effectively, then he can't win, right? Well, instead of using Initinates of the Ebon Hand, or Farrilite Priest just use your Keeblers to supply your nesseccary green mana.

Howl from Beyond, Gaze of Pain

First attack with something small, like a Flow of Maggots, then when they think that they're safe, toast them with a Howl from Beyond. Then if some creatures are holding your Sengirs back, simply play a Gaze of Pain to stop even the biggest meanie.

Psychic Venom, (or Seizures) Mole Worms (or Icy Manitulator, Evenerate)

This is the combo I based my Tap Dance deck on. Play your Psychic Venom on a land (hopefully a Maze of Ith) and start tapping it for 2 damage every turn with your Mole Worms. If you have Flood, or an Icy Manipulator, you can do 3 damage with Seizures.

Progidal Sorcerer, Fungusaur

Want a 5,000/5,000 creature? Good. First you hit your Fungusaur with Tim, dealing it 1 damage. Then it gets a little bit bigger. Then it keeps getting bigger every turn! Have two Tims out to damage it on your opponents turn, too.

Acrum's Weathervane, Avalanche

Ever hit a tree and have a HUGE piece of ice fall and hit you on the head? I haven't either, but you can give your opponent the same feeling. Make all of his lands snow-covered. By that time you should have enough mana to casts Avalanche, sending all his lands to the graveyard. Now try a Storm Seeker. heh heh heh.

Binding Agony, Regeneration

O.K. First, play these enchantments on your opponent's creature, then you can do any number of devious things to the li'l critter, and just regenerate it when it dies! This is just for fun, and you could build a alternate rules behind this combo. Instead of you being a wizard you could be a creature.

Cadaverous Bloom, Oath of Lim Dul

Can we say "get any card you want for free"? I though you could! You can cycle through your deck in a matter of seconds, looking for the card! Hmmmm, if you could only know the card you throw away of the top of your library.

Balance, Tawhiana

Well, if this isn't sickning then I don't know what is! Just let all your land phase out and then play Balance! Let's see, you don't have any lands? So your opponent goes down to no lands! When your lands phase back, you might wanna StP your Tawhiana so your lands don't phase anymore.

Seedling Charm, Hungry Mist

These two cards were made for each other. A lot of li'l twerps trying to defend? Give the Mist trample. A huge creature of some sort trying to block? Regenerate the mist. Even cards like Gift of the Woods can be returned to your hand if he manages to die!

Merrieke ri Berrit and Norrit.

Use the Merrieke to steal opponent's creature and then destroy them by untapping Merrieke with the norrit. Repeat this proceedure as many times as necessary.
