Background History
Erik Salaan is the son of the leader of the Black Forest elves, and born into a high calling of becoming the leader of the infamous guild of Silent Leaf Walkers. As soon as he was of age, Erik started mastering the ways of the Leaf Walkers. He was incessantly trained to walk without sounds, and to steal from the pompous humans that have reduced the Black Forest into a mere garden compared to it's former glory. He learned how to weave the fabric of Gaea's life force into useful forces to make himself invisible and to cause fog to slow his pursuers down. After becoming a full fledged Leaf Walker, he learned of secret raids upon Hollow Fort, and soon found that the Leaf Walkers were a suicidal group, and wanted no part in their actions, and soon planned his escape from the place.
We was to make his way through the swamp to the south, and reappear in Hollow Fort. From there he was to slip off to where ever the caravan stopped, and start his life anew. He found a few of his friends, a half dragon, and an shapeshifter, to help him escape. The Leaf Walkers wouldn't know of his escape until he was already far enough away. They made good progress through the swamp, until he felt his body being dragged under the water! He felt teeth gnashing, and his bones snap as he was struggling under the black, murky water for air! He suddenly loses consciousness and feels like he was instantly moved to another place.
The next thing he knew, he was in a small town, in the town of Hollow Fort! He arose from a small cot into a dark room, void of much light, except for a single candle on a table. He was absolutely stunned as to how he found himself here, he thought he had died. Slipping into his old, waterlogged boots, he slipped out of the old hut in Hollow Fort, and looked around his surroundings. He limped out into the cold streets, his leg torn and bitten from the attack. "It couldn't of been that long ago," thought Erik. He made his way to a smoke filled alley and finds the local bar, empty for the exception of the ever present drunks, and the barkeep. He asked the barkeep and found out about an infamous traveling group of adventurers led by a mage called "Vitrious".
He traveled, tracing them from one adventure to another, healing his wounds until he finds the group. And the rest is history.
Silent Leaf Walker Background
"The Silent Leaf Walkers are a group of revengeful elves, waiting for a time to strike back at the humans that have overrun the world of Terra Mystica. They are only very small in number, and are consider dangerous, especially in number. Silent Leaf Walkers are mainly known in the area surrounding Hollow Fort, as all guards there are notified to attack them on site. To all soldiers who haven't fought one, make sure you have a cleric to heal you of any magical ailments. Be wary of what you say in your offices, gentlemen, for they can be anywhere."
Silent Leaf Walkers are simply a Role Playing Kit for anyone who is an elven Thief/Mage. They are trained since birth to upset settlements, particularly human ones. They are masters at casting spells of illusion and concealment, combined with their thieving skills, allow them to be almost undetectable, usually even by magical means. Most Leaf Walkers know the spells of Invisibility, Fog Cloud, and other similar spells. Usually, hiding in shadows when invisible give you a 100% chance to hide, and stay hidden even after they are not invisible. Also, when magically unseeable via Fog Clouds or what have you, backstabs are easier (+4 for surprise) and make an excellent Assassin.
Unless a Silent Leaf Walker is a rogue Walker, they are usually Chaotic Neutral. When Silent Leaf Walkers are seen in public, they are usually given an -1 to reaction rolls to most humans, but when confronted by elves, they are given a +1 to reaction rolls, due to the cause they fight for.
Silent Leaf Walkers do not use bows, like their brethren, but instead use daggers. They are very proficient in dagger throwing, they should have a weapon proficiency skill in daggers.
When they are going to raid a specific place, and have had time to plan, they can camouflage themselves accordingly, usually in either black and green or brown and green, so as to make access to the place easier. Once, an entire group of Silent Leaf Walkers stole most of the weapons from Hollow Fort, without detection until the following morning. Enfuriated by this, the commander of the fort attacked Black Forest itself, but was stopped by the druid of the area, claiming that the potential war would destroy the area completely! Unwilling to provoke the High Druid, the commander withdrew from the area.
Since that time, the Commander has been requesting from King Higgis that he needs some support from his army to stop the threat of elves. He has been sending letters to the King similar to the one above.
Originally, the Black Forest expanded to most of the area, and the Silent Leaf Walkers were enforcers of the elven rights, and protectors of the forest. They were called upon by the Black Forest elvish counsel to "stop" certain people in the human population, although most of the common elves knew nothing of what the counsel were doing. In a matter of a few centuries, the trade route cause Hollow Fort to be build in the forest, clearing the woods for much more woods than they could use to build the fort. Since the elves didn't take up that much room in the forest, many of the elves were forced out of their homes so that the Commander could use the the tree to help build his fort.
