Round One
Senor Stompy (Green Cheap Creatures)
In the practice games I had before the tournament, I knew my brother’s Stompy deck could totally kick my butt, so it surprised me that there were about 10 different variations on the Green Creature deck. Go figure. Anyway, I started my game, and I got a shoddy hand, and there was nothing I could do but let him kill me. The second round was better, but after struggling, I died to the massive creature hoard. At this time, I forgot to sideboard. The third round went smoothly for me, considering the fact that I played Deathgrip, and he was mana screwed.
Round Two
(All Blue Creature/Control)
I wasn’t expecting this one. In one of the best matches I’ve had in a long time, my black deck fought back from 3 life to win. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any Counterspells. The second round was going perfectly, because I had the Buried Alive – Living Death combo in my hand. Unfortunately, he counterspelled my Living Death. Having only a Skulking ghost, I failed to deal him much damage before his Breezekeepers did me in. The third round was similar, only he Counterspelled my Drain Life that would of saved my butt.
Round Three
Bye
I had a little time to spare, so I played the local Mr. Suitcase at Star Wars with a thrown together deck. He trounced me soundly.
Round Four
(All Blue Creature, mainly Islandhome creatures)
OK, this wasn’t the most powerful deck in the world to bring to a tourney, but he decided to try this deck. Now, combined this fact that he got mana screwed and you can guess how well he did. The last game was pretty good, but in any case, I won all of this rounds games. I even got a chance to pull of a Living Death, Buried Alive combo, with Morinfen, Gallowbraid, and Greven il-Vec in my graveyard.
Other Players
(B/U Control)
Summary: This deck consists of several varied ways to stop cards from coming into play like Stupor, Coercion, and Counterspells. She had Abyssal Specters, and Mundugus for creatures. The only thing lacking was cards to take out speed creatures. She didn’t play with a sideboard.

(My Brother’s Green Stompy Deck) 3rd Place
Summary: This deck was your basic Stompy deck, using Call of the Wild, and Nature’s Resurgence to kick major butt. He didn’t play with a sideboard either, but his different creatures (like a Whirling Dervish) took care of black and his life gainer (Blossoming Wreath) stopped red.
