FASTER CAR CHEAT
To upgrade both cars in a 2-player race cross-country, you must first pick different save files, then pick different cars. After that, race up to Washington DC, pause and quit the race. Then reset the machine(Not turn on and off, reset). Re-enter the game using the files used in the 2-player game, finish the race with both cars and you wil have 2 upgrades.
TRICK
Chicago=After the first two turns, there should be a broken down car. If you hit the car, it will land in front of the first place car. The car must fly in the air for it to work.
SHORTCUT
In the Grand Canyon, after the first checkpoint, stay along the right hand side until you see a dirt ramp that goes up. When you come up the ramp you will see a land bridge. You must go across it fast, if you slow down you will fall off.
NITROUS BOOST
Get you name on the "Hot List", scroll to the bottom of hte list, and hold left for about 35 seconds untilthe head comes rolling across the screen. Using any car in any race, you can now get a Nitrous Boost by pressing Brake, Brake, Brake, Gas, Brake, Gas. You can only use this once for every checkpoint passed.
SECRET CARS
When on the car select screen, if you hold the C LEFT, C DOWN, AND C UP buttons on one of the first three cars, they will change into a ATV, bus, and the police car.
SECRET COURSES
Golden Gate Park
Hold the L button, C left, and C down.
Indiana
Hold the L button, C up, and C right.
San Francisco
Hold the L button, C right, C down.
FLASHING LIGHTS
After you get your initials in the "hot times" screen, scroll down to the bottom of the screem and hold left for about 35 seconds and a face will roll across the rollers. After, that, when you race with either the police car or the bus if you press Brake,Brake, gas, the lights will flash as long as you hold gas.
