Is your name from Dragon Lance?

No! I get asked this all the time on Kali. As I understand it, there is a Dragon Lance book called Cataclysm. I've never read a Dragon Lance book and I probably never will.

So where did you get the name Cataclysm?

After I answer no to the question above, they ask me this. I use the name Cataclysm because it was the title of an unpublished book I wrote (I didn't know Dragon Lance had a book named Cataclysm then). I chose the word Cataclysm for my nickname and for what it means: destruction on a large scale. Hey, that's what I do in Red Alert games! :) What I'm surprised is the number of people who already have this name and others who are wanting it. There are cataclysms at hotmail, Westwood Chat, even Juno. Haha, but I got the name first on Kali! There's a Descent player I know that's after my name and there is another cataclysm on Kali who's actually using the nick. Don't ask me to change my name, because I won't.

Why does your webpage not have that many downloads?

I thought by putting the explanation on the Downloads Page that I wouldn't be asked that question. But people still ask so here's the explanation: I'm using a free webpage that Geocities has nicely let me have. They've only given me two megabytes. With all the pictures and pages on this site I'm using up practiacally all of that space. If I had more space I would put more things to download.

Why does your page not have a background?

Backgrounds are stupid in every way. They are useless. First they take the page longer to download. Then they clash with the words and pictures. There are plenty of websites in which the background makes everything unreadable. Also, I like the blackness. Its a very neutral color and looks pretty cool.

Why does your page not have any frames?

Why should it?

Because then it'll be easier to go to other pages throughout your website.

I disagree. Whenever I go to a webpage that gives me a choice of frames or no frames I always choose the no frames. Frames are practically useless. The thing I hate most about them is when I click on a link that goes to another page, that cursed frame still stays there! Eventually my Netscape will crash because of that. People tend to think that a website must have all this HTML coding. So what if a page has a billion frames? Its not HTML coding I'm concentrating on but content. And content is a lot harder to do then HTML coding.

Why does your site not have a guestbook?

Guestbooks have been more of an annoyance then anything else. Guestbooks always get screwed up, since the person can get away without his/her email address or IP known. If people want to give me a comment, they can feel free to email me. But why write it on a guestbook where anyone can see? Trust me: guestbooks are more trouble then they're worth.

Why are you not on Cases' Ladder?

Because I hate one on one games.

Is that because you always lose?

No. Most of the time I'll win one on one games. I don't like one on one games because I like the teamwork, strategies, and so forth with 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3 games. Also, Case's Ladder seems ridiculous. The ladder and their cgi script are well done but its silly trying to 'climb' the ladder so you can one day be first place. Of course there is no way you'll keep being first place and you'll go down from there. Besides, why be on the ladder when you know you're the best? :) Case's Ladder to me is something where you just report who loses. I've noticed a lot of Case's Ladder people keep on yakking about their ranks. Their too much importance on rank seems to ruin the fun of the game. Well, at least for me.

Can I play you on Kali?

Sure. Keep in mind that I do not play one on one games anymore, the reason is listed above. I WILL NOT play whiners, beggers, or lamers of any sort. I'm very suspicious of anyone who's EAGER to play me. So don't email me asking for a game or anything like that.

How did you make your website?

Usually, I use Netscape's Editor program to create my webpage. The consequence of its easiness to use is how much its limited with html and java. I then use Homesite to do any of that.

How come you're not advertising your webpage and trying to win awards with it?

The majority of webauthors use their webpage as their 'trophy' or to show off their html and java skills in a similiar way as a magician would. Many of these people love to show off their awards that their website has won. Unfortunatly, website awards are a dime a dozen. Their value is practically worthless, and is just a cute little GIF to show off and try to impress the website visitor. Heck, there are many awards you can win by just signing the Guestbook of that particular website. Other awards are given by 'give my page an award, and I'll give your page one' types. The bottomline is that most awards are worthless drivel, and they have no practical other use then as a 'trophy'.

Do you update your page everyday?

No. Sometimes it may seem like that for a week or two. Overall I don't. I do update my webpage several times a week. I'm usually too busy to update my webpage everyday.

How long did it take for you to make this site?

I'm not sure. This site started out with two pages and a bunch of links that never worked. One page was the download page that didn't work, and the other page had some strategies on it. Ever since then, I've been constanlty updating this site. It just kept on getting bigger and more expansive.

Do the cheat codes REALLY work!?

Of course they do! :) Try them out and see!

I don't like your maps!

That's not a question.

Since I don't like some of your maps, can I send you mine? I think mine are better!

Sure! Email them to me and I'll take a look at them. If I like them enough, they go up on my download page.

Will you add a link to my site?

Sure. No problem. Just make sure your site has some type of content in it, and isn't pure graphics or something like that.

Will you add my banner to your site?

Let me anser this simply: NO! I have problems with space already, and I'm not going to put YOUR image on MY site. I don't have enough space for some of MY pictures already!

Yes. Send me the html line that allows me to load your image directly off of your server.

Why are you so mean to tank rush whiners?

Because they annoy me alot with their whining.

You're only saying that because you can only win by using a tank rush!

No, usually everytime I try to tankrush someone, I lose. That's because the people I play with know how to defend against tank rushes.

Why do you hate ultRA so much?

Because it sucks! :) I don't like ultRA because the game balance got shot to hell with it.

Who is Cataclysm?

On every FAQ on the net, the webauthor always answers this question. I don't think people actually care who the person is, I think the webauthor just likes to talk about himself. Anyhow, I like to remain a mystery so I won't tell you anything about myself. The only information I'll give you is right here. This gives you a good idea of who I am! :)
