There are two hidden characters in FF3: Gogo and Umaro. Little is know about Gogo himself, we don't even know if Gogo is a man or a women, what we do know is that his mimic ability and the fact the he can use 4 other members speacial abilties makes him one of my favorites. Umaro is big and as a tough as a dump truck. Here is how to get both:
Gogo: Go to a island in the north were a strange sucking creature lives. The creature is called the zone eater and sucks in your characters one by one. Let him suck in all of your characters. You are now in the middle of the island, under the ground. Head down the stairs and then head west. You see some bridges and some green men. The green men will knock you off (don't worry you will want them to later, but first get the items). You only want to be knock of once. Once you are knocked off get the items, and head to the northern most stairs (you may have to search around for them, I am being brief). SAVE! Make sure you save, you are about to enter a room with a falling celling! Trust me you have to save. It will take a few times to get though this room, don't give up.Know you are in a room with broken bridges and crests, figures it out and exit the room to the north to get the one and only Gogo!
Umaro: Head over to Narshe. Make sure that Mog is in your party, Umaro won't join with out Mog. Head though the mines and to the northern most peak where you have so many great memories of Terra flying off as an esper and saving mog from lone wolf. You will see the esper that is traped in ice, you have to fight it this time. It turns into a very powerful magicite shard, but more importantly it opens up a gap in the cliff behind it. Save your game. Go down the mine. Head up the right hand stairs. Head though the maze of tunnels. You will enter a room with some hay in the middle and a bone statue. Head over to the statue and get the magicite from it. Suddenly Umaro will appear and a fight will insue. He is a piece of cake (not when he is in your party though). After you beat him he will join you and head to the airship.
That is all. Just make sure that you follow my instructions carefully.
