We should be thankful!
Were you around during the PC game revolution in the early 90's? Back them most nintendo games were superior to what was on a PC. Atari and Commodore had better games even. One man started a trend that changed it all. Excellent shareware! Give away games with sequals that needed to be purchased. Not the lame stuff that just asked for money. The series was called Kroz and even though it was ascii only it was deep. The best was KrozII. It might not look like much now but because of it's success Commander Keen was born from a new company called ID software :) I remember talking to Scott Miller through mail on prodigy about game programming and how his new program (one he was going to distribute) would make history because the animation was better than nintendo. It was based on several of earlier platform games he distributed like artic adventure and caverns of mars. It was excellent and a friend and I immediatly sent money for the second and third game. One final message from Scott said he was quitting his day job because he needed all his time for apogee. If you know your game history then you know this turned into Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein 3D the first of the 3D virtual reality like 1st person stay up late games, DOOM, Rise of the Triad apogee and ID split lets compete now game, Terminal Velocity new company, DOOM2, Heretic, Hexen, Duke3D, Quake, yada yada blah blah. Wow
