Tamagotchi!
The latest craze sweeping Japan. It's this little egg shaped handheld virtual pet. I think the name means cute little egg in japanese.
It actually hatches, lives for a while, then dies. In order for it to grow you need to feed it and change it's diapers. (actually it does it's business on the floor and you need to clean it up)
You have to play with it to keep it happy. It gets sick and you have to take it to the doctor. It beeps for attention. They were supposed to be coming to the USA very soon but I haven't seen them yet.
(I just noticed this file after 8 months :) and they have been out in the US for the last 5 months. And it took me untill a month ago to finally get one. They are so cute but with a new baby I just don't have the time to devote to a virtual reality pet :) heheh sorry had to say that.)
