Atari Jaguar Reviews
Zool 2
Type : Side Scroller
+ : This is Zool 2, sequel to Zool (Obviously). It's an average side scroller, with average
graphics. The music is a nice addition though, which is MUCH better than the original. Of
course the graphics are better, since it's on a Jaguar. The main object of the game is to gain 99
points on each level and find the exit. After every three levels there's a boss. Here's how it is :
The graphics are only 24 bit, the backgrounds are nice, the Music is really well done and sounds
cool, the sound effects sound like they are from Looney Tunes or something. Overall, it's a good
game Here's how I think it goes ; If you like Sonic the Hedgehog, you'll like Zool 2.
- : Backgrounds, graphics, and sound effects are only average, and could have been MUCH
better, but it's still better than the original.

Cyber Morph
Type : Shooter
+ : This is the first game released for the Jaguar, and came as a pack in game with the system.
The shading in this game was extremely well done, and was ahead of its time. The one song
that's in the game sounds good too. This game is in the perspective view as Star Fox (The
original one), but instead of going in one direction the whole time, you go all around the planet
you're on. I+Another plus is the amount of weapons you get.
- : Not everything was Texture - Mapped. Really only the walls were.
RATING :

Iron Soldier
Type : First Person Mech Shooter
+ : You are a person controlling a 42 - Foot tall mech. You'll never believe how fun it is
smashing cities into oblivion. There are many levels in this game, along with 8 weapons to equip
your mech with. The music is ok for the setting the game takes place in. Many different missions
to accomplish, and lots of different enemies. Some of the enemies are nicely texture mapped.
This game is a lot of fun, and will keep you playing for hours...and is definately worth the price of
$11.99 at KB toys.
- : The graphics could have been much better. I mean, the graphics on the title screen and the
missions are incredible, but the graphics in the game itself aren't that great...helicopters and tanks
are only textur mapped when the get up close to you, and everything else doesn't really have
textures or anything. . .it looks a lot like a Super FX chip game for the SNES. Gameplay also
takes a little while to get used to.
RATING :

Val ‘d Iser Skiing and Snowboarding
Type : Skiing / Snowboarding
+ : Very nice graphics, good music, and an overall fun game. Choose from Skiing or
Snowboarding, and choose to compete, Ski or Snowboard downhill, and other things. It's two
players too.
- : NOT two players at the same time.
RATING :

Theme Park
Type : Sim City Type of Game
+ : This is just like Sim City, except you get to make an amusement park. It's easier to learn
though than it is in Sim City if you are a beginner. That's really all you need to know ; If you like
sim city, you'll definately like Theme Park.
- : Some of the text is hard to read. The graphics aren't very good....this is something you would
find on Super Nes.
RATING :

Alien Vs. Predator
Type : Shoot ‘em Up (Doom Clone, but Better)
+ : No people, this isn't Alien Vs. Predator, the arcade version. It's completely different. It's a
first person shooter like Doom. Choose from The Predator, the Alien, or some Trooper Guy (I
forgot what he was called), and kill whatever you're supposed to kill. Each guy to choose from
has a different mission to accomplish. The graphics in this are incredible, and look ver realistic. If
you like Shoot ‘em Ups, you'll like this game.
- : No real music, just ambient sounds. This game is VERY tough to finish.
RATING :

Wolfenstien 3D
Type : Shoot ‘em Up
+ : This is the first person shooter that started it all.....This version is completely remade. The
graphics are smooth, the sounds are different, there are two new weapons, and there are different
challenge modes. You can also save your progress as you complete more levels. Overall , this is
a very good remake of the original hit.
- : The enemies all sound different, and some of the words they say have been changed. Not all of
the bosses of the original were included, but there ARE some bosses from Wolfenstien 3D : The
Spear of Destiny added.
