Most of the files here will be patches that make games work with
Voodoo2 cards. But there may be general patches available here as
well. It's not that there are any flaws in the Voodoo2 cards or in the
games themselves, it's just that the cards were not available for
testing by the game developers in time to create patches before the V2
cards were released.
If you are having trouble getting your Voodoo2 card to work with a
particular game, be sure to see
this page at 3Dfx to find out if there
is a patch in the works.
Patches
Voodoo2
Patch for Joint Strike Fighter (Retail Version)
For those who cannot move the Voodoo2 board using Device Manager; users
with Award BIOS's for example. This kit contains an .EXE that is run at
each bootup. This program will move the memory range of the Voodoo2 board
so it does not conflict with the S3 board.
S3 Virge users do NOT need this kit... Most S3 chips not in the 968/868
famliy should also be OK.

(EA is working on the patch, but it won't be released until May)
The 1.02b patch is supposed to fix the problem where the game
locks up and displays a black screen (or faint 3Dfx logo) right after
the "fly" button is hit. If you get it to work, let me know - it keeps
telling me to "insert a CD", but others report success with it.
From Operation 3Dfx:
The S3 remap kit has been updated to support Voodoo2. For those not
familar with this kit from Voodoo Graphics days.... S3 968/868 based 2D
cards will misreport the amount of mapped memory used. When your Plug and
Play BIOS (and Windows 95) assign mapped memory it can assign a range in
use (but not being reported as in use). When you run a 3D application,
the 2D memory is written into and the system can hang.
v1.1 Upgrades: Enhances the performance of all supported 3D cards.
Includes support for Matrox M3D and NEC Apocalypse 3Dx graphics cards.
This patch also includes a fix for Force Feedback support.
Adds native "Glide" support for 3Dfx-based hardware accelerators with H3D
support.
