Kibagami Genjuro is a great swordsman
is SS , also a great gambler too. He is very good at playing Hanafuda
or Flower Cards. (in fact, Hanafuda was forbidden in Edo Period and was
recovered in Meiji Period, so there is a question how Genjuro plays it)
From game, you can see that many Hanafuda Cards appear in Genjuro's moves.
Hanafuda or Hanakaruta (karuta, from Portuguese
"Carta") is a gambling card game played with 48 card deck divided into twelve
card suits represented twelve months of the year. Each card has different point
and name. There are 3 types of cards :
Cards depicting animals or figures; 10 or
20 points.
Cards depicting a Tanzaku (A strip
of poem writing paper) separated into 3 styles - Red strip with poem, Normal
red strip and Normal blue strip. All are 5 points.
Cards depicting plants with no other objects,
called "Kasu" or "Trash" cards; 1 point.
