Stuart the Maniac's Chess Closet

This room smells faintly like a locker room and is filled with tension. Every once in a while, you hear a chess clock snap as somebody pushes down the stem forcefully after making a move.

You see a group of rumpled-looking players hunched over chess boards. Occasionally a player will look up and act annoyed.

Some people are playing chess over computer terminals; some are playing in the tournaments that are being organized around the room, and some make attempts at kibitzing that are met with immediate stern looks.
