Mega Man

Mega Man, one of the most well known games out there, and definatly the longest series. With I don't know how many installments of Mega man, it is hard not to have played at least one of them.
I am going to review the first one, mainly because it's the only one I currently own (I lost Mega Man III somewhere) and partyly because the guys' names are so dumb.
Basically, like all the MM games, you can beat the first set of stages in whatever order you choose, and then you progress through a series of more advanced stages against Dr. Wily. Along the way, you can beat enemies such as Cut Man, Elec Man, and even Guts Man (visit Seanbaby's NES page for the lowdown on the Mega Man naming comitee) to steal their powers. You can also find items to help you along your way like a phantom rope thingy.
Well, Mega Man, being the original in a long series of classic video games, is good, but not great. The play control isn't that responsive (the jumping is very akward and it is hard to change weapons), and the game isn't that fun, but all in all, it is a good game.
I would call this game 'average' if it weren't for the fact that it started a great series of games. I know this isn't really that fair of a judgement, but I see the frame of the entire MM series in this game. The unique of level selection is so good that plenty of games have stolen it (i.e. Whomp Em').
All in all, barring the fact that it spawned the biggest video game series in NES history, this is a game you can enjoy, but not play over and over like Metroid, or Super Mario Brothers 3.
