British Sten Gun
Description:
The Bren Heavy Infantry team carries the heaviest fire power of any British Infantry unit. Bren teams consist of 4 men, the leader carries a Lee Enfield Rifle along with two other members of the team. The third carries a Bren automatic rifle that gives the team tremendous fire power compared to a normal rifle team. Along with the guns they carry the team is also equipped with hand grenades and if the team is part of a airborne division they also carry Gammon bombs for antitank defense.
Deployment:
Use Bren teams the same way you would use American BAR teams. The Bren unit has incredible fire power when ambushing a unit because of its large amount of fire that the team can put on a enemy team in a short amount of time. Hide Bren teams in multistory buildings where the Bren gun can be used in the same way as a machine gun. When assaulting enemy units in a building or behind cover always make sure that there is good supporting fire that will suppress the enemy unit. This is always essential because there is only four soldiers to the Bren team, in a frontal assault against a well defended building, a Bren team can be destroyed before taking the building.
Advantage:
Great fire power and fast movement.
Weakness:
With only four member to the team it can be destroyed very fast when under attack or attacking a enemy with more soldiers.
Rifle Light Infantry
Description:
The Rifle Light Infantry team consists of 7 or 8 soldiers to a team that all carry Lee Enfield Rifles. The Rifle team also carries hand grenades and if the team is part of an airborne division they also have Gammon bombs. These units are the core of the British Army and are the base of all infantry divisions.
Deployment:
Use Rifle teams to hold victory locations and attack enemy units if there being suppressed by supporting fire. Send Rifle teams along with supporting tanks but always make sure that the rifle teams follow the tanks. Use the Rifle teams to attack any enemy Antitank guns and Antitank infantry teams that could destroy the tanks. Always make sure that the Rifle teams have good cover by using smoke grenades and suppressing fire power from other units like tank before moving team.
Advantage:
A large number of soldiers with each team and medium firepower comparable to German Rifle teams.
Weakness:
Not a lot of firepower when compared to other units the Rifle team will lose many if engaged by a machine gun of tank unit.
Half Team Light Infantry
Description:
The Half Team Light Infantry is exactly the same as a Rifle team except there is only 4 soldiers to a Half Team. The Half Team also known as Ad Hoc Infantry is armed with Lee Enfield rifles and hand grenades.
Deployment:
Use Half Teams to hold and defend victory locations after stronger teams have captured it. When full Rifle units are not around the Half Team can serve as Rifle teams too but with lower firepower.
Advantage:
Low amount of points to gain and good for holding and defending Victory Locations. If attacked by tanks from distance try to use smoke and hide the team.
Weakness:
Very little fire power and only 4 soldiers to a team. Pretty much defenseless against tanks.
Recon Scout Infantry
Description:
The Recon Scout team has a lot of firepower for only 3 soldiers in the team. All 3 soldiers carry Thompson Submachine guns that give good firepower when assaulting or ambushing a unit. Along with the Submachine guns the team also carries Hand Grenades and Gammon bombs if it is an airborne team.
Deployment:
Use Recon teams to scout out enemy positions and to ambush other units. With the good firepower that the Submachine guns give you can attack larger teams than the Recon and win if you ambush them. The Recon teams are also good for sneaking up on German tanks and attacking them with Gammon bombs. This is a good tactic against large tank destroyers like the Jagdpanther and Jagdtiger.
Advantage:
Fast movement and good firepower mean excellent ambushing capability.
Weakness:
Only 3 soldiers per team means that a well place mortar round can destroy the entire team.
Piat Antitank Infantry
Description:
The Piat Antitank team consists of 2 soldiers, one armed with a Piat Antitank Grenade Launcher while the second member of the team is armed with a Lee Enfield rifle. The Piat is not as good as the German PanzerFaust or the American Bazooka, but it is fairly accurate at close ranges around 45 meters. The Piat does not have the penetrating power to kill the German heavy tanks like the Jagdpanther and KoingsTiger VIB.
Deployment:
Place Piat teams where they have good lines of sight and in the probable path of enemy tanks (along roads and in open areas where a tank can easily travel). Always have another team either a Half Team or a Recon Team backing up the Piat team, if the Piat team is attacked by an enemy infantry unit they will likely not be able to defend themselves for very long.
Advantage:
Has the best antitank capability of any British infantry unit, and is deadly to light or medium tanks and half-tracks.
Weakness:
The team is easily destroyed by enemy infantry units if there is no back up for it.
Sniper
Description:
The Sniper is armed with a Scoped Lee Enfield Rifle. The Sniper has low firepower and no antitank ability but is easy to hide and ambush enemy units moving over open ground. The Sniper has no hand grenades or other weapons besides the sniper rifle.
Deployment:
Place the Sniper in multistory buildings or behind cover next to open ground and wait until an enemy unit moves through the open ground. Let the sniper take a few shots and to kill some of the enemy team and then move the sniper to new cover so enemy teams can't charge it. If the Sniper is charged by an enemy unit let is stay and shoot you may lose the Sniper but it will kill many attacking solders before being overrun.
Advantage:
Great accuracy at close range and has an ability to shoot enemy team leaders.
Weakness:
If its cover is blown the sniper has to find new cover fast or it is easily destroyed. Poor accuracy at long range.
