Specials
Since I've been getting alot of e-mails
from first time players of the game wondering how to do Specials I figured I
would explain it here. First off you can only do Specials when your Attitude
meter is flashing "Special", you can speed up this process by doing
taunts (analog stick). There are basically 8 different type of Special moves you
can do, but not all wrestlers have 8 Specials. All wrestlers have 4, this is
certain, the Front Grapple Special,Back Grapple Special, Punch Reverse Special,
the Kick Reverse Special. Other wrestlers can have any from 5 to 8 Specials
depending on who they are. Here are the 8 different type of Specials that the
wrestlers have in the game.
Front Grapple Special
Pretty basic, get your opponent in a Long
Grapple (Hold the A button for about 2 seconds) when you have a Special, and
then hit your Analog Stick. This is how Steve Austin does the Stunner and the
Rock does the Rock Bottom.
Back Grapple Special
Same as above except you have to get your
opponent in a Long Grapple from behind when you have your Special, and then hit
the Analog Stick. This is how Chaz does the Reverse Death Valley Driver and Test
does the Pump Handle Slam.
Punch Reverse Special
This is simply reversing a punch while you have your Special (catch your
opponent's punch by hitting the R Trigger). Most wrestlers will do their Front
Grapple Special when this happens, but not all of them. Some do a big move
instead, either way your opponent will be in trouble. For example Godfather can
reverse a punch into the Pimp Drop, while Kane will reverse a punch into a Choke
Slam.
Kick Reverse Special
Same as above except most wrestlers will do their Back Grapple Specials when
they reverse a kick while their Attitude Meter flashes "Special", but
of course not all wrestlers do this. For example Steve Austin will reverse a
kick into the Stunner, while Test will reverse it into his Pump Handle Slam.
Irish Whip Special
Most wrestlers also have this Special, but not
all. Their usually just the same thing has their Front Grapple Specials or
another big move. All you do is when you have a Special, whip your opponent in
the ropes and when he comes back hit your Analog Stick. Rock can do the Rock
Bottom this way, and this is how Big Boss Man does the Boss Man Slam.
Turnbuckle Special
These moves are done when your opponent is in
the turnbuckle. Your Attitude Meter has to be flashing "Special", and
then you do a Long Grapple, and tap your Analog Stick. This is how X Pac does
the Bronco Buster, and Ken Shamrock does a Super Belly to Belly Suplex.
Top Rope Special with Opponent
Standing Up
This one is pretty simple, all you do is climb the turnbuckle when you have a
Special and your opponent is standing. For example Shawn Micheals and Chris
Jericho do a Diving Moon Sault, while Ken Shamrock does a Missile Drop Kick.
Top Rope Special with Opponent Down
Just like the other one, all you have to do is climb the turnbuckle when you
have a Special and your opponent is lying down. This is how D-Lo does the Low
Down, and Shawn Michaels does the Flying Elbow Drop.
