To make a long story short Borc:
Used 7 articles of mine on his page without my permission
Edited those articles without my permission
Only put my name on the articles when I complained to his web page host. Until then he gave no one credit for their work. Since it was his page and there were no names on the articles he gave anyone unknowing the impression that he wrote the articles.
He promoted his page using articles he stole from other sites saying things like "come to my site to see the Utopian History" which he stole from my page
Almost his entire site was ripped off from other Utopian sites. I saw something like 2 articles out of twenty that he had written himself on the page. The two he did write were a so lame it was funny profile of himself and some article where he was getting all jazzed up because he was on his kingdom's War council or something.
When I became aware of this I told him in no uncertain terms to remove the articles from his page and started a campaign to get his province killed. He made a total @ss of himself in the forums. My page was lame, tired, old, etc and so was every other Utopian page. Then after much flaming and 50 people telling him he was an idiot for stealing everyone's work it seemed to sink in. He became contrite and apologized. He offered to take everyone's work down if they asked. He was sorry. He knew it was wrong to steal other people's work. Nobody liked him, he wasn't even going to the page now, yada, yada, yada poor pitiful me. Well he did offer to take my work down, on the 10th of August! So he couldn't find the twenty minutes it would take to remove the links to my articles on his page for 2 weeks? Uh-huh. I didn't think he was sincere. I was thinking that he was angling to have me go "Well, since you asked permission, it's ok to keep them on your page". Hell no, write your own content was my attitude. I told him I wanted the articles taken down.
Later, out of the blue he gets belligerent again (he has more forum personalities than sybil). My page and everyone else's page sucks again. I'm bascially the Utopian Devil (wait I actually like that). Now I'm stealing material from him somehow (since he basically has no original material I can't see how that could be). All that crap about how he was sorry, and his page is going away, and how he knew he was wrong is all out the window. Now he's going to have the greatest Utopian site ever. I can't imagine how he could pull that since 1) He has no clue what he's doing in Utopia and is at like 135 acres and 38k last time I looked 2) He has written basically zero content so far and it too inexperienced and even obviously uncreative to write decent content 3) He's already got a reputation as a total idiot so almost no one is going to want to write content for him if they know anything about him.
Since then the odyssey continues. Borc started an ICQ meet and greet section on his page. In his typical obnoxious fashion he just took a bunch of ICQ #'s off of the Utopia general forums and put them on his page without permission. Even after being asked numerous times to take them down by the owners he refused. How pathetic is it that you have you have to steal ICQ #'s to get them up on your page? He refused Larroke's request to take down his Utopian Calculator and responded to Larroke's request by putting up something he copied and pasted from the Utopian forums insulting Larroke (who as far as I know had been very civil to him). Larroke had to change the format of his page to keep the guy from stealing his work. He's insulted who knows how many people on his own forums (which were recently spammed by someone angry about him having his ICQ # up on his page without his permission) and on the Utopian forums. He and I had an excellent flame war on the Utopian forums which mainly consisted of me and who knows how many other people telling him he's an idiot and stop stealing other people's work. I wrote Angelfire (who was original webspace provider) complaining about his copyright infringement. They gave him 5 days to remove my work from his page or he would be kicked off of Angelfire for copyright infringement. He found some lame friend of his who apparently doesn't care whether what he has on his servers is legal or not to host his page. Recently I got an email from Borc that was probably 50% curse words. I knew the guy was uncreative. I knew he wasn't that bright. I knew the guy was kind of unstable as well because his personality on the forums flips back and forth so much. He trys to play himself off as an innocent victim who is getting picked on for some reason when he's bascially a troll who gets off on fighting with people. His behaviour is for lack of a better word insane and seems designed to irritate as many people as humanly possible.
Anyway, I would of course like to have had my articles removed from his page. What he is doing is illegal. You have copyright protection from the moment you post an article on a website although in order to sue you need to officially register your copyright within 3 months of the day it is published or before the first time someone steals your work. I suppose I could go through the hassle of registering my work and them filing suit but it would be a huge pain in the arse that wouldn't be worth the trouble.
I've already flamed him senseless on the forums. I suspect he cares nothing for Utopia or doing a Utopia page at all at this point. I think he's mainly slapping up stuff (like the Utopia privacy statement..yeah that's exciting) on his page now just to be annoying. I mean his province is wrecked, he is now universally looked at in the same vein as people like Mr. X, SNAP, Tinafoil, The Java Hacker, etc by everyone who knows anything about him. So he can keep stealing material from all the other pages and trying to put together a page for a Utopian populace that thinks he's a moron but it's ultimately going to be a futile endeavor. I am done with him except for one of the excellent flames I did of him that I'm going to post on my page. However, if you'd like to show your displeasure at his boorish, lame, attitude and totally uncreative, ripped off webiste, there are some things you can do:
1) Write Big B.O. at borc@borccollective.com Tell him to remove my articles or whatever you like.
2) Post with Authentication in the Utopia forums when Big B.O. speaks letting him know that stealing is wrong, he should write his own articles, or he just sucks. Whatever floats your boat.
3) Post to the forums of his page (Here) telling him what you think of clueless people that steal other people's work. He'll get no hits to his page for any posts here.
