Thievery by Land of Lions |
(I received a large document from Land of Lions covering most parts of the game. I'm editing it down and breaking it into smaller sections) |
Thieves are the most valuable asset in the game. Without them you will not have enough gold to get to |
the top, nor will you be able to defend yourself against others who have more thieves than you. |
Thieving success is based on the ratio of thieves to acres that both you and your target have. The higher |
your ratio is compared to your enemies, the greater chance you have of success and the less thieves |
you will lose in the process. There is always a chance of being caught, however, so if you fail against a |
target you know has fewer thieves than you, try again you will most likely succeed. Your chance of |
success is also affected by your stealth level and that of your enemy. |
The most common error made by players is sending too many thieves to do each job. The following is a |
guide to how many thieves you need to send - don't send any more than are necessary, as that just |
increases your losses. |
Infiltrate |
The more you send the more accurate the reports are, but I'd never bother sending |
more than 10 on this. |
Survey |
Survey reports the numbers of buildings very inaccurately, but interestingly, reports |
the %'s of buildings perfectly, regardless of the number of thieves sent. 1 thief is all |
you need. |
Spy on Military |
Military Spy reports the numbers of military units quite inaccurately. The guide says |
that the more you send the more accurate the reports are, this could well be true, I |
have no idea. I like to send 100 if I know my thief ratio is better than theirs. |
Assasinate Wizards |
You only need about 2 thieves to assassinate 1 wizard, and you can assasinate up to |
about 6% of the enemy wizards. |
Rob the Granaries |
You can steal up to about 30% of a targets food. Each thief can steal 90 bushels, |
while the target loses 100 bushels per thief. |
Rob the Vaults |
You can steal up to 6.3% of the gold a target has. Each thief can steal 157.5 gold. |
The target loses 7% of his gold each attempt (ie 0.7% is lost on the way home). A |
good guide is to send 40 thieves for every 100k gold the target has. |
Rob the Towers |
You can steal up to 25% of the runes a target has. Each thief steals 15 runes. |
Kidnappings |
2 thieves per peasant kidnapped effectively - no idea of the maximum in one go. |
Arson |
100 thieves burn down one acre, up to a maximum of about 5% of homes |
Night Strike |
1 thief kills 1 soldier to a maximum of 9% of their soldiers |
Incite Riots |
No idea (From Archfiend: You only need to send 1 thief. It does 4 to 6 hours worth of rioting. It does not seem to stop all income from being collected. Only your science, bank, and regent bonus seem to be effected) |
Sink Boats |
Each boat requires 125 thieves to sink. You can sink up to 30% of their boats. |
