Here's my *Condensed* Bulleted List of Bands which I like and/or have Influenced my music tastes over the years...
I will attempt to list them alphabetically. Also, my personal rough rating is overall.

- ALICE IN CHAINS (AIC): USA, grunge, several great songs (e.g. "Rooster",
"Would?"). {7/10}
- AMERICA: They suck, but have a few good tracks - e.g. horse with no name. {2/10}
- THE ANGELS: OZ, the opitome of Rock 'n Roll how it should be. Great Live.

- ANTHRAX: USA, Heavy, quite well known. Worked with PE a bit and that's cool.

- ANTI NOWHERE LEAGUE (ANL): UK, punk-ish, very raw, not for the young kiddies.

- APHEX TWIN: Havent heard a lot, but thier ambient works are very cool. {5.5/10}
- B -
- THE BEATLES: UK, who hasnt heard of them? Some cool songs. {4/10}
- BEASTIE BOYS: Kick-Ass Live! Doubtless pioneers in many ways. Older stuff
better. {8/10}
- BILLY JOEL: Sucks, mainly, but album "Glasshouses" is OK. {2/10}
- BLACK SABBATH: Major metal pioneers from an era past. I need to hear more. {6.5/10}
- BOB MARLEY: A legend without a doubt. Father of most Reggae. {7/10}
- BODYCOUNT: USA, Ice T and co. know thier shit. Rough, hard and raw. Metal/Rap
mixes. {7/10}
- BUZZCOCKS: UK punk, very raw. song "Orgasm Addict" is very cool. Havent
heard a lot. {6/10}
- C -
- CAPTAIN SENSIBLE: UK punk, very wild. His song "Croydon" rocks. {6/10}
- CAT STEVENS: Old, generally sucks, tho song "Moonshadow" is OK. {2/10}
- CHEECH & CHONG: USA, legends. Thier track "Dave" says it all. Great Movies
too! {8/10}
- THE CLASH: UK punk legends. Song "This is England" is very good. Well-known.
{6/10}
- THE CRAMPS: USA, excellent attitudes. Raw. Album "A Date With Elvis" rocks!
{8/10}
- CROWBAR: USA, modern *very* heavy, grinding metal. Extreme instrumentalists.

- THE CRUEL SEA: Some ok stuff. {5/10}
- THE CULT: A couple of cool songs. Inconsistent. {4/10}
- THE CURE: UK, Well, legends in nearly all music circles. *LOTS* of albums
& songs! {8/10}
- CYPRESS HILL: USA, modern Hip-Hop-ish, song "Hits From the Bong" is legendary.
Variable. {6/10}
- D -
- THE DAMNED: UK punk, absolute legends. Lots great songs, incl THIER great
"Smash It Up". {8.5/10}
- DEAD CAN DANCE: Canada, modern ambient/gothic/mixup influences. Some good
stuff. {6/10}
- DEF LEPPARD: USA, Glam Rock style. Song "Pour Some Sugar on me" rocks. Would
be wicked live! {7/10}
- DIMMU BORGIR: Norway, modern *extreme* Death Metal. Song "Mourning Palace"
is awesome! {6/10}
- DIO: From an era past, great heavy metal. CD: "Dream Evil" rocks. Would've
been awesome live! {8/10}
- DIRE STRAITS: Legendary in many circles, some good stuff. Too light for
my liking. {4.5/10}
- THE DOORS: USA legends. "Riders on the storm" very cool. Lots good songs.

- E -
- ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN: Not bad, Inconsistent. Album "Songs to Learn and Sing"
was good. {5/10}
- ENTOMBED: Extreme metal, havent heard a lot of thier stuff, but pretty good.

- FAITH NO MORE: Some good stuff, would've been good live. {7/10}
- FEAR FACTORY: havent heard a lot, have a few kick ass tracks. Like to see
them live. {6.5/10}
- FLEETWOOD MAC: Generally suck, but thier song "Tusk" is cool. {2/10}
- FUGAZI: Havent heard a lot, but some of thier stuff is cool. {6/10}
- GUNS 'N' ROSES: USA, not bad, too variable and glam-like. Song "Civil War" is great. {5.5/10}
- H & I -
- HUNTERS & COLLECTORS: Rockers who are quite well known. {5/10}
- IRON MAIDEN: UK, from an era past. Metal Legends, would've been awesome
live! {8.5/10}
- J -
- THE JAM: UK punk-ish, of an era past, havent heard much, some cool stuff.
{5/10}
- JANE'S ADDICTION: Some excellent songs, especially "Up the Beach" & "Mountain
Song". {7.5/10}
- JIMI HENDRIX: Absolute legend, and one of the best guitarists in all history!

- JOE SATRIANI: Legendary Guitarist, Album "Surfing with the Alien" is great. {6/10}
- K -
- KATAKLYSM: very extreme metal, too much screaming generally, but song "Sorcery"
is awesome. {6/10}
- KEVIN BLOODY WILSON: OZ, mainly talking/joking humour - very raw. Very funny.
Very cool. {8.5/10}
- KILLING JOKE: UK, influential for many big bands, song "Tension" rocks.
Earlier better. {7/10}
- KISS: USA, Awesome metalists from an era past. Glam metal-ish. Wouldve kicked
ass live! {8/10}
- KRAFTWERK: Germany, quite wierd techno/sampling. A few good tracks, esp.
"Autobahn". {4/10}
- KYUSS: Modern soft-ish metal, were great supporting Metallica in OZ. Cool
Song: "Gardenia". {6/10}
- L -
- LAIBACH: Quite extreme metal, only heard a little of thier stuff - want
to hear more! {7/10}
- LED ZEPPLIN: Legends. Want to hear more. {8/10}
- M -
- MACHINE HEAD: USA, modern metal, speed influences. Very heavy. Very good.

- METALLICA: USA, Lords of metal. Absolutely outstanding! Live, extraordinary.
Older stuff better. {10/10}
- MIDNIGHT OIL (OILS): OZ, A *huge* history. Legends. Kick-ass live! Album
"10-1" best. {9/10}
- MINISTRY: Heavy Industro-Techno, song "Psalm 69" kicks. {7/10}
- MOTLEY CRUE: USA, Heavy glam-ish metalists, wouldve put on an awesome show
live! {6.5/10}
- N -
- NEW ORDER: UK, from an era past. Lots of stuff. A bit too pop-ish too often.

- NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS: Havent heard a lot, seem inconsistent. {3.5/10}
- NIRVANA: USA, good attitudes, variable. Very popular. {5.5/10}
- O -
- THE ORB: Canada, modern rave/mixup. Very good. Amazing live (in the appropriate
state). {8/10}
- OZZY OSBORNE: From an era past, wild, a bit inconsistent. Some good stuff.

- P & Q -
- PAINTERS & DOCKERS: Rock, wierd raw tastes. Cool Songs: "Kill Kill Kill",
"Pull Me Off". {5.5/10}
- PANTERA: USA, Heavy, fast, and raw. Song "I'm Broken" kicks. Would be awesome
live. {7.5/10}
- PEARL JAM: USA, grunge legends. lots good stuff, "Oceans" very cool. {6.5/10}
- PHIL COLLINS: Genrally sucks, but his epic song "In the Air Tonight" is
legendary. {3/10}
- PINK FLOYD: UK, Absolutely legendary. Known by almost everyone. Enough said.

- PIXIES: Alternative, many great songs - esp. "Wave of Mutilation", "Monkey
Gone to Heaven". {6/10}
- PUBLIC ENEMY (PE): USA, earlier stuff better, was great live in 1989. "Don't
Believe the Hype". {6/10}
- PUBLIC IMAGE LTD. (PIL): UK, punk, Johnny Rotten. Legends. Best songs: "Bags"
& "Fishing". {6.5/10}
- R -
- RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE: modern hardcore, some good tracks. Variable. {6/10}
- RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS: USA, Some good stuff, but are too wierd and possibly
gay. {4/10}
- R.E.M.: Some ok tracks, esp. from the album "Green". Too light for my liking.

- RICK WAKEMAN: Only heard "Journey to the Centre of the Earth", which is very cool! {4/10}
- RUN DMC: USA, Hip-Hop/Rap pioneers, some good stuff. Inconsistent. {5/10}
- S -
- SEX PISTOLS: UK, punk legends. Stood for a lot of young people's views. {7/10}
- SCARYMOTHER: OZ, modern heavy stuff. Good tracks: "Lord of the Flies", "Who
Are You?". {6.5/10}
- THE SCREAMING JETS: OZ, Great modern rock band, very good live. Very big
in NSW & OZ. {6/10}
- SEPULTURA: Brazil, Very heavy metal. Album "Roots" kicks ass! Will be awesome
live! {8.5/10}
- SINEAD O'CONNOR: UK, generally sucks, but her older song "Troy" is very
good. {3.5/10}
- SOUNDGARDEN: USA, grunge legends. Pretty cool overall. Would be great live.
{6.5/10}
- SPECIMEN: UK, very off-beat wierd band. Thier song "Returning (From a Journey)"
is great. {5/10}
- SUGARCUBES: Alternative, not bad, a bit pop-ish too often. Song "Birthday"
is *outstanding*! {6/10}
- STIFF LITTLE FINGERS: UK, hard punk. Song "Roots, Radicals, Rockers & Reggae"
is cool. {5.5/10}
- T -
- TEA PARTY: Cool modern rockers, with some heavy influences. Inconsistent.

- TEMPLE OF THE DOG: USA, cool mix from a few big grunge bands. Cool idea!

- TOOL: Modern grunge-like with heavy influences. Some very good tracks! {6.5/10}
- TUMBLEWEED: OZ, cool alternative heavy-ish band. Great attitudes. {6/10}
- U -
- U2: UK, extremely well known legends. Some good tracks, but way too trippy
in recent times. {4/10}
- UGLY KID JOE: USA, Cool hard rockers. Wish I'd seen them live. {6/10}
- V -
- VIOLENT FEMMES: USA, wild and variable, some classic songs e.g. "I Held
Her in my Arms". {6/10}
- W, X, Y & Z -
- YELLO: Not bad, wierd, variable. Best song is "Domingo"; "The Race" & "Oh
Yeah" are cool. {5.5/10}
