Bill has taken more than eight years to assemble the information contained in this fine reference work. It covers all known mail-carrying flights to and from Ireland since the first successful non-stop trans-Atlantic flight of Alcock and Brown in 1919.Each listing gives a brief description of the flight or series of flights. Included in this description is the date of the flight, the itinerary, the airline making the flight and other pertinent information. A 50% reduced illustration is provided for most flights and the different collectable covers from the flight are enumerated as well as the number of covers flown where known.
While an exhaustive treatment is not attempted for each and every flight it is expected that individual collectors will persue a more detailed study of flights they are interested in.
