PHILATELIC SERVICE ARUBA

MISSION: The Philatelic Service of Aruba supplies collectors with Aruban postage stamps and first-day-covers. We try to make it easy for you to collect Aruban stamps. By establishing a standing subscription, you will receive your stamps regularly and free of postage. You are certain to receive all new issues.
THE POSTAL SERVICE OF ARUBA: On January 1, 1986, the first Aruban stamps were issued. This coincided with the establishment of Aruba's Status Aparte, making Aruba independent from the Netherlands Antilles and an equal member of the Kingdom of Holland.

ARUBA'S POSTAL HISTORY: The first post office on Aruba was established in 1888 at Oranjestad. It was then considered a sub-office of the Curacao post office. In 1925, its status was changed to make it a full post office. Offices were established in St. Nicolaas in 1936, at Princess Beatrix Airpost in 1969 and in Noord in 1992. The stamps of Curacao were used until 1949. From 1949 until 1985, the stamps of the Netherlands Antilles were used.
