Pokemon Red / Blue is a Gameboy game that came out in 1995 in Japan and is still rocking the world today as it is introduced into America. It's a role playing game with a new twist, you don't fight yourself, you fight using trained beasts called Pokemon. Pokemon is also one of the few Gameboy games that uses the link cable to not only challenge other player but to trade Pokemon with other players. Professor Oak, a leading authority in all things Pokémon, gets you started by giving you one of three Pokémon; Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle. He also gives you a Pokémon encyclopedia called a Pokédex that he wants you to fill up with Pokémon information for him. You mission is to battle your way through the long and winding travels of the world of Pokémon. As you travel, you will have to catch as many Pokémon as possible. This is not an easy task, as you have other Pokémon trainers out there to stop you, including Team Rocket and your long time rival Gary.
