Crystals

Black crystal, covering all like night
Tries to drown out every light.
Inky blackness smothering lives
None on Earth can ever survive.
White crystal, shining pure and bright
Cuts through the darkness like a knife.
Makes a tunnel, safe and warm,
Protects the Earthlings from all harm.
"You can't get away!" screams a princess clear
Fighting back her frightened tears
Black crystal sparkles, dark and cruel,
Neither will submit to being ruled.
With strength unknown white takes the lead
Erasing dark from thought and deed
The princess falls, dazed and weak
And hope returns to hearts once bleak.
