Member Status Types:
Please take note: Thru expierence the guild has learned that
the needs of our members can varry from time to time. In the world of Never
Winter there where Active and Inactive Knights (full members) as well as retired members
and "Knights Emitrius"
With the guild being present in many games on the web it has been
recognizedthere is a need for these and more. To that effect the following status
definition shall apply, but only to full guild members and only in games where no other
provision is made to address these issues. As always the individuals in a
local chapter of this guild in their game are free to modify these as they
feel the need warants.
Active Knight: Any guild member
who maintains a regrular contact with other of the guild, answers E-mail or similar
activities. They are permited to hold office, vote ect as equals amoung other guild
members in any game they play in. This is so if a member is spending a lot of
time in one game but has characters guilded to kef in more then one game they do not lose
on status because of a lack of visual presence in the other games. They always have
a responsibility to the guild to assist however they can in the growth of the guild.
Retired Knight: Players may from
time to time wish to absent themselves from responsibilities to the guild but not break
ties with the guild; with the GM's aproval they may be permitted to retire and
remain members of the guild with no loss of station or status so long as they maintain e
mail contact with the guild at a minimum. They are still required to maintain their
guild characters according to the laws of the guild. As such they may return to
active status as they wish by notifying the GM or other council members.
Knight Emitirus: From time to
time a player may wish to retire a character in name and persue other endevors. With
the express permission of the GM at the time of their departure, the GM may bestow this
status to a character. THis is done for guild members who have displayed exemplairy
qualities as a guild member long standing. As such the character name is removed from use
by any one in the guild and the status remains frozen for eternity. This is done as
a mean of honouring those who have gone before us.
Inactive Knight: Guild members who for
personal reasons have left the guild and want no responsibilities what so ever. This is
the status given to knight who leave the guild and the game and dont maintain contact, nor
make arrangements ofr continuing their membership. No rights are preserved nor
promised should a players character decide to return. Returning members of this
status shall be subject to the aproval of the GM and the council. The GM shall
determnine any conditions for their return up to and not limited to repeating the Knight
Errant portion of their training. Upon returning they will be expected to attend a
knighting and renew their vows to the guild. The ammount of work required to renew
their membership should be refelective of the conditions of their departure, and the
duration of time involved from when they where last recorded as being an active guild
member and when they applied for the right to return.
Leave of Absence: Players may
from time to time find need to have nothing to do with the guild for personal reasons not
having to do with the game. By prior arrangement with the GM, the GM at that
time may permit this arrangement. The LOA member could remain on the mailing list as
long as they maintain a current address with the guild. SHould their email account
become invalid for any reason they will revert to inactive membership, and be removed from
the lists and password changed according to the direction of the gm in each game the
player was involved with. Returning from LOA will require concurance of the GM
and they may set any conditions as they see fit at that time. LOA may be
granted to guild membes not yet knighted if the GM thinks circumstances warrant.
Banned Players: Unfortunately
from time to time players may become problematic for the guild, If this should happen a GM
in a game may ask the central guild office to bann a player. The request must cite
specifics ect. The Central council members shall discuss the issue with other GM's
in the seperate game and determine if the player is in their games and if their has been
any similar problems. Withing 30 days the central council shall issue its decision
banning the player form just the game where it was requested of if warrented from all
games the guild is in, using the players Email addy and whatever other information is
available so as to provide protection for the entire guild body.
