Well as promised I have finished writing that story about the game mentioned below. All that is left to do is make a link to it so you all can read it. That should only take a few minutes and I will do it as soon as I am done typing here. So look down below at my subpages to find out where I have placed it. Probably in the stories section. I hope you enjoy it even though I know I left many things out and forgot half of the battles.

Yes, that's right, today I have played the best game of StarCraft that I have ever played. Oddly enough it was played against the #6 ranked team on the ladder, at the time, namely Pimps On Parole. I don't particularily like their name but it was a good game none the less. Until now I have not really attempted to write any stories about games I have played but I think this one deserves a chance. I am going to write a story (a few pictures included) and hope to give the game justice. The justice part may not happen but I can try. Look for that coming soon.

Well today has been a rather slow day but even so a lot of things are going on (if that makes any sense). First of all some kids of my parent's friend's are down staying with us because there is a big sailing regata going on here that they are participating in. That is pretty cool because they are pretty cool guys.
Second of all I pretty much beat a friend of mine last night in SC. His name is Meriadoc, I am sure I have mentioned him before. Anyway it was on a pud neither of us had played before and I was zerg while he was random. I did they early pressure and expand like a mofo route... only I found out he was expanding even faster. I took out one and found 2 more. So I just sent out like 4 drones and made 4 expansions. It was expansion city. Anyway I got the big units (mainly mutas/guards) and I even built 12 Ultras since I had resources galore. I took out his last expansion and all that was left was his main and what did I see? 12, count em, 12 BattleCruisers coming my way to slowly pick off my expansions. Well I had a defiler place so I started on plague and built 12 defilers. If I was smart I would have done some scourge too. I am pretty sure I could have taken him with only one base even thought 12 BCs is a heck of a lot. But guess what happens then? Vibe (my cable modem) just quits... so I am left in the dark with no access to the internet. It was a real bummer. Sorry for the one big long paragraph.
In other news after that RabbleMaster and Meriadoc (who are on my ladder team) decided to play some ladder. They played 5 games, and can you beleive it, lost em all. I was so shocked because they are good players (better than I) and we were on an 8 game winning streak before that (all of those 8 games I was a part of). Anyway tonight maybe we'll break the cold snap. We shall see.

Well over at EverQuest.com they have updated their page with some useful information. It turns out that they started testing outside of the studio just after the E3 show but only VERY minor and on July 15 they began their phase one test including 300 people. No report as in how the test is going as of yet ... but you may want to check it out. As far as I know some of the test CDs are still being shipped to the testers.
I, myself, who signed up for this test as soon as the form was up have not been informed of making the test, as of yet. Anyway I thought that the first time I filled out the form I may have made some mistakes with addresses and such so yesterday after much debating with myself I filled out the form again. The problem with this is that it will drop me down in liklihood of making one of the earlier tests... but I suppose that is better than not making it at all. This time I checked to make sure everything was right so I hope I will get in the test sometime soon. One can only hope:)
Well just a short time after the SCV Labor Union and the Froppers have merged teams becoming one still under the name of the SCV Labor Union we have won five games in a row and are on a hot streak. The funny thing is that I participated in all 5 of those games that were won and 4 of them only had people in them from the old Froppers. The other game had 2/3 Froppers and 1/3 old SCV Labor Union. Our record sucked before but we seem to have hauled ourselves together and we are doing wonders for the new team.
We are presently ranked 17 though we were, yesterday, at a high of 13 twice. We reached 13, dropped 3 or more places, played another game and then reached 13 again. 17 is not bad and we are not incredibly anxious to play again seeing how as we may ruin our streak but we can't let ourselves drop in the ranks forever:) I am not sure what will happen from here on.
The Great Hunt is, I beleive, the name of the second book in the Robert Jordan "Wheel of Time" series. I am about half way through it and I am pretty impressed with it. There are some gory parts that could have been left out in my opinion however. I am not much of a one for extreme violance or obsenity. This book contains plot twists like you wouldnt beleive and all the old characters from the first book, even minor ones, seems to somehow end up back in this book. Truly a masterpeice and I hope the rest of the book, and series, will prove to be as entertaining as this.
I have listened to the whole thing through and it is a pretty good CD though there are a few songs I don't like. I am sure I will grow to appreciate them as I listen to it further in the the future. If you like Shania Twain I suggest that you buy this CD. She sure has a nice voice, no one can argue that point.

Over at StarCraft.org Mutant has written an editorial about the possibility of a StarCraft movie. It is a good article with good ideas but the problem seems to be convincing Blizzard of the idea as well as the possibility of a game movie going big time. It hasn't worked in the past. In a reply to this someone linked to a site that has info saying a Warcraft movie is in production though it may all be a hoax. Who knows. It would be cool but will probably never happen. It is a good read check it out.
What's this you say? You heard me right I am now on a new ladder team! I told you the story about my two friends starting a team a long time back and how I bugged them to join then finally started my own team. Well they have become nearly inactive because they rarely play so I once again sugested a merger and he said he'd think about it. Well yesterday we discussed it and even though my team was ranked higher we decided to move over to his team. He didn't want to really join ours because our record sucks. So I am now a proud member of the SCV Labor Union. We have a total of 6 member now -- RabbleMaster, Meriadoc, Chill, Darkweaver, Atlantean, and Rabble. This is quite a talented team but unfortunatly the most talented members don't play ladder that often:) Anyway we are ranked 35 now. We'll see how we do. I'll keep you posted.
Well since I now have a job today I decided to go out and buy a few things for myself. I am planning on saving most of my money (80% or more) for university but since I have already made $500+ I figured spending $50 or so wouldn't be unheard of.
Well anyway I got a drive uptown with my mom after depositing a few checks in the bank. I looked around a bit and then I went to the bookstore and bought the next 3 books in the Robert Jordan series. I have read the first one so now I have up to #4. I have read a bit of the second one today and so far it looks promising but I don't know what to expect. How can the same storyline be dragged through 8 books. I guess I will see if it works out.
After my trip to the bookstore I went Sam's (a music store) and picked up Shania Twain's new album "Come On Over." I know most of you think I am crazy for this but I don't really care. I'd say about 6-7 of the songs are good and the rest are okay depending if I am in the mood to listen to them or not. I was slightly dissapointed but overall I think it was a good purchase. What other artist puts 16 tracks on one CD... not many that's for sure.

Well on the ladder we have been losing, losing, and losing some more. Our record is about 30% right now which sucks. Right after I left my teamies beat a high ranked team which put us up to 11 from like 18 (we were 13 but had dropped to there) so that was our highest yet. After that they went on a 5 game losing streak, all to good teams I mihgt add, and things looked pretty grim. We dropped down into the 20's. I got back last night and played one game with Atlantean and we won against the Pondering Protoss who where 14 so we got up to 19 again. We then played anohter and it was looking really close when one of the guys said "save", so I did. Then he said my dad needs the computer for a bit and just left... no explanation. He said we could play in an hour. Well it was 3 my time so I was done... so basically that game is history. It would have been a good game I think though. Wish I could have found out.
On the up side the cold snap is broken for now and we can enjoy our one win until the next loss:)
The reason there has been no updates for a week is because I went on a short five day vacation up our local river on our boat. It is an annual thing we do each year and I managed to get some time off of work to be able to do so for part of it this year. It actually doesn't get over until Sunday but I was able to stay until late last night. It was a good time but not a lot happened. There is one person there is is AMAZINGLY good at scrabble who I never beat and by some miracle I beat her twice this time around. She is like a walking dictionary. Of course the victories were by about 2 points each but I still won:)
I still want to be there now actually but it is impossible. I am glad to be back home and a chance to play some more SC as well. When I was there I read my first John Grisom book and it wasn't half bad. It was his newest one called "The Street Lawyer." I am telling you this book gives you a lot more appreciation for the poor and homeless ... at least it did for me. Check it out sometime if you like reading and have the time.

For those of you who don't know I have a cable modem called "Vibe" and it provides extremely high speeds but it has some problems. It could not play some games due something with UDP packets. It worked fine on kali but not on Battle.net and some other services so it sucked in that manner. Well I got a call today informing me that they have fixed the probelm and I was like, yay!! Well I got down here and it did indeed work so I am happy. There is a slight drawback though because tonight I get these slow spurts where is goes slower than my modem does but then sometimes it works fine so I don't know. It has me baffled. They are probably still working on it.
Well since the last time I talked about ladder we went on a HUGE cold streak but things are starting to look up. My ladder team the "Froppers" lost 6 in a row but mostly to top ranked teams. Anyway today I played with DarkWeaver and we beat the #3 ranked team, project-x, twice so that catapulted us up to 13th spot. We still have a crappy record of like 7-15 but you never know... at least we have a nice high spot.
Well today has been a good day concerning the internet and computers in general for me:) There has been lots of neat stuff happening which you will see in some of the posts I make above this. There has been a little bit of bad mixed in with the good but hey I take what I can get:)

I think I will add another counter to my page. It is a really cool counter. The two counters will be a little off from each other but that's ok:) It actually updates while you are viewing the page so you will see if someone else logs on to my page when you are there because the number will change. Quite a good counter I think.
Like I said I added more screenshots to the screens page. I was really picky this time so there aren't as many as could have been there. The page is getting cluttered so I will take down some of the older ones eventually. Some of them are really good and they include the statistics of my first two ladder games ever with SC. It is funny how people thought we were newbies then we'd cream them. I also fixed the link on the Shania Twain photo at the bottom it actually links to the wav file now.
I think I will get some updates done sometime today if I have the time. I have like 40 more screenshots on file so I am going to look through them and throw up some of the better ones on to the page. Also I might add a story or two if I feel like it. Maybe about the ladder games I played last night and how one of the losers haven't reported yet:)
I have actually started to read a bit about Java but it is kinda complicated and will take more than the time I have right now to actually learn so I should get that done sometime but it may not be that soon. Not like it is that useful anyway:)

Well today I found out one of my friend had started a ladder team named SCV worker union and I asked if I could join. To my surprise he said no:) This is because he wanted to see how he and another friend could do alone. They are doing well so far after 2 or so days they are ranked 39th.
Anyway after trying to get on their team for like half an hour my other friend, Atlantean, decided to start our own team. Anyway it is called "Froppers" and so far we have won two games against the #21 and #22 ranked teams. We are now ranked 93 but one of the teams didn't report so we hope they will soon. I have lots more stuff to do to this page but I haven't had time so maybe I will find some time tomorrow. I just thought I would fill you in on that info.

As most of you know today is Canada Day and since I am Canadian I thought I would say happy birthday to my Country on my page. Canada is a good country and I except no substitutes. Anyway we've made it for another year which is good. I am not doing much to celebrate... I was going to go watch some fireworks but I decided not to. On a side not Indipendance Day is coming up and for all you Americans out there I'd like to say have a good time partying:)
